Little Missouri Fly Fishing Cottage at 16 Factory Site Road is within 3 minutes of all the best accesses to the Little Missouri, the best kept trout stream secret in Arkansas. And for you diamond hunters, we are 5 minutes down the road from the Crater of Diamonds.

Our cottage sits secluded in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains. Cozy in the fall and winter months, just sit back and enjoy a fire in the Fisher Stove. During the fall the hardwoods on the property add just a bit of color to the 2 acre spread.

Yes, the Crater of Diamonds State Park is the attraction around here, and they do find REAL diamonds almost every day out there. We are 5 minutes from the park, so you can go work your luck, and come back for an afternoon nap when you are ready.

Should you be a stream trout fisherman, or lake fisherman, bring your catch back to a fully equipped kitchen, or head into Murfreesboro for one of several cuisine restaurants. For you fly fishermen and women, our little secret stream down in Southwest Arkansas is stocked from late October to late April, with fly fishing year round. A novice and experienced fly fisherman's dream not too far from home. Local guide available. You do need a license and stamp which you can get locally.

Our cottage is accessible to the great Ouachita mountains just up the road for you hikers and outdoor lovers. If you like walks in the woods and along the river, this one is for you.

Just 2 minutes from Murfreesboro,5 minutes from Crater of Diamonds State Park, 5 minutes from Lake Greeson and Narrows Dam landing, Wegner's Quartz Crystal mine is 40 minutes away (nothing but rave reviews from rock hounds), 4 State Parks within short distance, and 1 National forest and the Hot Springs National Park within an hour.

About Mark

Mark and Suzanne are Texans originally, but found Arkansas 30 years ago and settled here to run a business and raise a family. Both our sons and daughter in law attended Arkansas schools and colleges. We truly love being Arkansans and everytime we leave for the crowded metropolises, we feel the warmth of the area as we return.

Mark purchased this house in 1997
Why Mark chose Murfreesboro

We love the closeness of a truly unique small town area with plenty of things to see in nature. From Mark's passion for fly fishing for trout, sailing, farming, golf and tennis, geocaching, and the outdoors to Suzanne's love of the beauty of nature, Murfreesboro and the surrounding area have it all. And the beauty is, people have not overrun the area. It still has small town appeal with a low amount of traffic, unlike other popular places in the area like Hot Springs and Branson. We like it so much we have purchased another home here and live here in retirement.

What makes this house unique

Fly fishing on a 5 mile stretch of water, a lake and boat marina within 5 minutes of the house, the Crater of Diamonds 5 minutes away, natural beauty of the lower Ouachita mountains, the color in the spring and fall, wildlife galore, and few people.

The Seeker

There were 3 of us and we really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The brochures and menus for the restaurants helped us since none of us were familiar with the area. All the information in the listing was accurate and the cottage was clean and well stocked with everything you need. We had a wonderful time and would recommend the cottage to friends or relatives. The owner was very helpful in making suggestions on restaurants and activities. We will miss the rooster and hens as well as the goats. The Fisherman's Cove and Fish Nest were the best of the restaurants and we really enjoyed the Kadoha Indian Village but didn't care for Wegner's Mining. The Gallery and Caddo Antiques were the best shops and the people couldn't be nicer.

Best Ever Little Mo River Fly Fishing Cottage

Don't let the name of the cottage mislead you. Not only is it a great place if you like to fly fish but it is the best ever place to stay if you want to find that diamond at the Crater of Diamonds or hunt for crystals, or even just enjoy the Arkansas countryside. It was everything the listing said and so much more. It was not only clean but comfortable and charming. Mark and Suzanne went above and beyond to make our trip a great one. We had a car problem and Mark interrupted his day to help us get it fixed so we could still take the grandkids on another day of crystal mining. Had fun at the Diamond Mine but the boys loved, loved the Crystal Mining. We all appreciated and loved the fresh eggs every morning. Having a washer/dryer was also a huge bonus as I could wash the clothes after those days of digging for crystals. Mark was extremely helpful not only before booking the cabin but during our entire stay. My grandchildren are already asking when they can go back. While most people go to Florida for Spring Break - we decided this year to go from Florida to Arkansas and it was one of the best Spring Break trips we have had with the grandchildren.

My Husband, Daughter and Grandson with our Exchange Grandson from Germany wanted to come to Dig for Diamonds, I found Little Missouri River Fly Fishing Cottage and we are so happy we did... The house was so nice and comfy. We enjoyed our stay so much to bad it wasn't longer. We also had the Diamond digging supplies that we could use so we didn't have to rent...The kids loved the goats and the chickens. If you are going to visit Murfreesboro you need to make sure that this is the place you stay.

We enjoyed the stay at your country cottage and it was very sweet and cozy, and the animals made it even better. It is a great place for relaxing and doing a little fly fishing. Would recommend it to anyone who is wanting to get away.

We stayed there 3 nights. It was very clean and comfy. Had a great time! The best place to eat was at the Fishermans Cove in Nashville, AR. That was about 13 miles from us and was amazing !!!
