Call this bright, comfortable, tastefully-renovated apartment home while you explore Paris! Situated in the heart of one of Paris' liveliest neighborhoods, the apartment is just steps away from the Moulin Rouge, Montmartre and Sacré Coeur, and just 1km away from the Grands Magasins (Galleries Lafayette and Printemps department stores) and the opulent Opera Garnier.
This fourth-floor apartment with an elevator has a spacious open-concept living area, incorporating a spacious living room, kitchen, and dining area -- all of which overlook rue Fontaine through two large windows. The living area also has a sofa which converts into a sofabed suitable for two guests. Enjoy free international phone calls to most countries, WiFi Internet access and cable television - including a few news channels in English.
On the back side of the apartment, you'll find the master bedroom, with a high-quality queen bed and a large closet. Enjoy the private balcony off the master bedroom for an afternoon drink or romantic dinner. The bathroom is modern and beautifully designed -- including both a clothes washer and tumble dryer.
We look forward to hearing from you and greeting you upon arrival in Paris!
Modern, clean, comfortable, bright, well thought out, well located, responsive owners, spacious bathroom, functioning appliances….this place ticked all the boxes on my criteria list. We will be back! Thanks Paula!
Thanks to the owners and to Paula of Frenchy Rentals for a superb apartment! The photos of this apartment are spot on...it is well designed, with a fully functioning kitchen, great washer and dryer and is, all in all, the perfect home away from home. Convenient to bus lines and the metro, and with many choices for food shopping, I loved my time here.
My husband and I stayed here in May 2014. Our only regret...not staying longer!
In total we were away from home for around 8 weeks. Paris and Fontaine Modern was the highlight of our trip. The apartment has all we required. For us, not one thing was missing. The living room, kitchen and dining area offer a wonderful space that allows you to stretch out and make yourself at home. This is something I have never experienced in Paris before. The bed was so comfortable and the bedroom incredibly spacious with loads of storage. The bathroom/laundry likewise ....the shower amazing!!! The neighbourhood is an eclectic mix like nowhere else I have stayed. There is much diversity in the rue's inhabitants, but everyone was friendly and we never felt uncomfortable (or at risk) any time of the day or night. The best bakeries in town (I reckon) were around the corner. An amazing butcher across the road. Plenty of restaurants to choose from, although we ate in most of the time because the neighbourhood supplied everything, and our kitchen transformed our purchases into wonderful meals! The apartment is so close to several Metro Stations that led to everywhere, if you chose to venture further!!! But the the biggest draw card was Paula. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely Paula. So welcoming and helpful. Flowers and wine waiting for us. Some essentials in the pantry. She was there if needed; fortunately all was so perfect we did not. We cannot wait to go back. Thank you Paula for a wonderful experience and to Tom and Ann.....thankyou for allowing us to stay in your lovely home!
We arrived at the apartment on Sunday at noon, after having checked out of our hotel. We were met by Holly, who gave us an introduction to the apartment and its neighborhood; Holly showed us how everything in the apartment worked and recommended a couple of places nearby to shop for food. All very helpful.
The neighborhood is just a bit sketchy, being not far from Pigalle and some not particularly wholesome looking bars and clubs, but we got in rather late one night (around 11) and walked to the cab stand 4 blocks away at Clichy at 7 am, and felt secure both times.
The apartment was sparkling clean and modern, and after a week in a boutique hotel, seemed to be just huge. We liked that it had internet and enough cable channels for us to find some news in English. We liked that we could walk all over central Paris, from the Arc de Triomphe in one direction to the Canal St. Martin in another. Clichy was close enough to provide both bus and metro service, but we walked and were happy we did because we felt we got to experience Paris that way.
There's a good restaurant just up the block, a good bakery around the corner, a Whole Foods kind of market just down the street, and a grocery store that handles all the necessities almost nest door.
One small warning: there are some edgy characters who hang around near the door to the building, so it's important to keep the door code secure.
We would definitely come back to this place; the price was right, and the management was helpful and friendly. And just as a note: we got our cleaning deposit back within two weeks of returning home. C'est marvalleiux!
We rented the apartment a few years ago and I can't wait to go back!!!! Paula was a pleasure to deal with and the apartment was not only beautiful and in a great location, it was spotless, full of amenities and very spacious. It was worth every penny and then some! I have recommended French Rentals to everyone I know! Just this morning someone asked me for the information and I can't stop telling them how great it is!!!! I love the new website too!!!! Thank you so much Paula!!! I will be back....
Where do I begin? This apartment exceeded all of my expectations. First off the photos give an absolutely accurate depiction of the apartment. I sell real estate and am used to seeing photos that make homes look way better than they truly are, so I was prepared for the apartment to look different. The 9th location turned out to be wonderful. The street is quiet, yet in any direction you are at numerous Paris attractions. About the apartment: loved the layout, it makes you feel totally at home. The kitchen is a good use of space, and equipped nicely. Paula even had coffee there for us. The bathroom is nicely updated and very efficient. Having a washer/dryer was a giant bonus! The bed was one of the most comfortable we've ever slept in...in fact it was hard to leave the bed some days because we were so cozy. Having a "lift" in the building is also a bonus as I guess that's not very common. The apartment is stocked with books, travel guides, a few English movies, cd's. All of the necessities and even others you wouldn't expect were on site: detergent, cleaning supplies, extra linens, umbrellas....so useful to have all that stuff! The location: we felt very comfortable in this neighborhood. It's an up-and-coming area that used to be the red light district. There are still sex shops and "massage" parlors, but it truly was a very normal area to be in and the shops are all in the busy and touristy Moulin Rouge area. Several metro stations are nearby and we used all of them. Paris is easily walkable in good weather, so take advantage of going places on foot if possible. Our first day we found ourselves getting off Metro at Arc. de Triomphe and did the entire area around Champs Elysses and ended up at Eiffel Tower at 6:00 pm as lights came on - purely magical. We walked all the way home from the tower that night, only took about 45 mins-1 hr.
All in all we had a glorious time and what made it all the better was having the apartment to come home to. I will absolutely stay here again if I find myself in Paris!
