Water Recreation & Boating:
If you enjoy water recreation and boating then you'll love the 150 lakes in the Pocono Mountains. Lake Wallenpaupack is the third largest man-made lake located entirely in Pennsylvania and has become one of the Poconos' most treasured recreation areas. The adventurous can take to the rivers and ride the waves while white water rafting or kayaking. Families will have fun in the beautiful outdoors at a waterpark, beach or whitewater rafting, canoing, or kayaking in the Poconos.
Winter Recreation:
If you're looking for fantastic downhill and cross country skiing in Pennsylvania, the Pocono Mountains are the perfect winter wonderland. You can also find snowboarding, ice skating, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, snow tubing and other activities to complete your Poconos winter vacation. Pocono skiing offers over 146 slopes and trails, whether you are an expert meeting the moguls, or a beginner gently exploring the hills. Pocono Mountains lakes also offer plenty of room for testing out your ice skating or ice fishing skills. Lake Wallenpaupack, the third largest man-made lake located entirely in Pennsylvania, offers no less than 52-miles of uninterrupted shoreline. Ski:
The Largest (and Best) Ski Resort in the Poconos is minutes away from this retreat. There is skiing and/or boarding on Camelback's 33 trails, including 26 for night skiing. There are 12 lifts, including two high-speed detachable quad lifts (fast and dependable); and a lighted terrain park and half-pipe exclusively for borders. Skiers will enjoy the mile long top-to-bottom advanced novice cruising trail called The Nile Mile. Served by the Stevenson Express high-speed quad chairlift, this run is one of the best in the Poconos. The half-pipe is wide and will be groomed with a Pipe Dragon. The Camelback snow tubing park has three tows, seven runs and giant 'family tubing'
Golf:
Golf the Pocono Mountains. Whether golf is an obsession, merely your favorite sport, or a pleasant pastime to enjoy in the company of friends, the Pocono Mountains is an ideal place for a golf getaway. Golf courses in the Pocono Mountains range from challenging championship courses designed by such notables as Robert Trent Jones, Geoffrey Cornish and A.W. Tillinghast, to friendly nine hole facilities. The Poconos are well known as a great golf destination.
