Overview

Trastevere area Apartment Rental Photos and Description

1 large bedroom, 1 living room w. queen size sofa bed, 1 kitchen corner,1 bath

Bright, charming apartment with wood ceilings, located in the heart of Trastevere, Rome's historical centre. Placed on the third floor of an ancient building (with no elevator, like most buildings in Trastevere....)

It comprises one large double bedroom, one living room with a queen size sofa bed, dining for 4, a fully equipped kitchen corner with a two burners stove and a bathroom with shower.

Complete with linens, towels, pans and dishes, kettle, toaster, hairdryer, microwave, iron - iron board –Internet wifi -TV with satellite international channels and Air Conditioning.

Located in a very nice area of Trastevere, next to Piazza Santa Cecilia.

It's only 3 to 20 minutes walking distance to all the famous Piazzas and monuments: 10 minutes to the Roman Forum and Campo de Fiori (only 600 meters away), less than 15 minutes to Piazza Navona, Pantheon, the Colosseum, Fontana di Trevi and S. Peters Basilica. There are, bars, a grocery, a bakery and restaurants right outside the building.

It's 200 meters away from all the buses and trams and about 1 kilometer away from the Metro (which there is no need to use...)

A small grocery store is right across the road, a friendly neighborhood bar/cafe is downstairs, so you have everything you could possibly need within the neighborhood.

There are a couple of nice restaurants just outside the building. One is is called 'le mani in pasta'. Another one is is called 'Da TEO' (family cuisine) in Piazza dei Ponziani (first left leaving the building). There are a lot of good pizzerias too. 'Ai Marmi', (as you get to Viale Trastevere from via dei Genovesi, go left for 50 meters). Any other pizzeria in the area is good too.

If you go near Piazza Trilussa and Vicolo del cinque you will find a lot of bars and night action. A lot of night actions is also found in the evening in Campo de Fiori, which is just 10 minutes away from the apartment. The location is the best you can wish for!

About Trastevere:: Trastevere is a very romantic area right in the centre of Rome, 5 to 10 minutes walking distance from all the major tourist attractions.

Most Romans gather on weekends in the pizzerias and stroll with a gelato through the cobblestone streets or along the river for a hand grated granita

Long known by Romans for its restaurants and bars, Trastevere is a pleasant area to stroll in Rome, particularly peaceful in the morning and lively in the evening as dozens of trattorias set tables out along the cobblestoned streets.

The immediate area has some of the best Trastevere restaurants and trattorias as well as one of Rome's most famous bakeries all within a few blocks.

A small grocery store is right across the road, a friendly neighborhood bar/cafe is downstairs, so you have everything you could possibly need within the neighborhood

The neighborhood of Trastevere is known for its lively nature, and the array of people it attracts, it's a favorite of foreigners due to its authenticity and the two international universities in the area.

Trastevere is also the location for a weekend pizza for most Romans who gather on the weekends in the pizzerias and stroll with a gelato through the cobblestone streets or along the river for a hand grated granita.

Trastevere is east of the historical center on the other side of the River Tiber. It’s one of Rome’s oldest area and certainly one of the most characteristic. Here you’ll find many restaurants and bars located on the cobbled-stone narrow streets of Trastevere. Once home to the Syrian community and then to the Jewish community, Trastevere has slowly and steadily grown into the second biggest Rione (area) in Rome.

Rich families such as the Farnese settled in amongst populace bringing wealth and giving the area a certain status that had been coveted throughout history. At the heart of Trastevere is Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere which is one of the most beautiful piazza’s in Rome.

Visit the church of Santa Maria in Trastevere and admire the faded palazzi while you relax in one of the bars lining the square. Trastevere is also only 5 to 10 minutes walk to all the famous Piazzas and monuments.

Why Luca xx chose Trastevere area

The apartment is very cosy and romantic. The wood ceilings also add a lot of charm. It's in a small bulding where it was easy to get to know all of the other tenants. The area is very safe and it's in the quiter side of Trastevere.

Charming stay in this Trastevere Apartment

  • 5 of 5

My hubby & I recently stayed at this colorful, airy & bright apartment on our last European vacation back in September 2014.

The location could not have been better & the apartment itself was spacious enough for two adults!

The kitchen was stocked with plates as well as necessary culinary items, the pictures on VRBO are exactly the way the apartment looks & the washer/dryer was a definite bonus!

Located just outside of the more touristy zones, our cute, temporary little home made us feel like we were living just as the locals live in this gorgeous, historical area!!

Luca the owner was very nice to work with, professional & quite helpful, responding timely to my many questions via email. Luca's Assistant, who showed us the apartment explained everything regarding the property to us. From how to use the WiFi, to how to operate the A/C, and everything else necessary to know as guests/clients during our stay. She was on time and a very pleasant lady to work with as well.

Being there in September, the A/C was an absolute lifesaver, keeping us cool & comfortable.

In addition to this, the light hum drowned out the noises that occurred with the morning hustle & bustle. Although generally speaking, this area is a pretty quiet spot.

There is a restaurant next door, Spirito di Vino, that is really good & the hospitality from the staff, memorable! The Son is the server; Mom, the cook & Dad is the absolute, most charming host (aka schmoozer!).

Really, the only criticism I can state here is the small bathroom -But then again, what bathrooms aren't tiny in Italy???

Fantastic apartment in a fantastic location

  • 3 of 5

We have recently completed our third stay in this apartment. It suits our family perfectly. It has always been presented clean and well supplied with linens and kitchenware.

The apartment is located perfectly, close to the centre of Rome but set back just enough to avoid the crowds and hussle. The immediate area has local-style coffee shops, and small supermarkets.

We will be back next year again.

Lovely Apartment in the heart of Trastevere

  • 4 of 5

We loved the neighbourhood, full of artists, restaurants and cafes. Every day we walked to a different attraction throughout Rome.

The apartment is on the third floor so mobility is a must but the apartment is worth the climb. Open Windows for a great breeze and to hear the bustle of the street below. Close the windows and turn on the air conditioner when it's hot! Great inexpensive cappuccino across the street in the rooftop café over the grocery store.

Bathroom is very small but functional.

Roma stay summer 2014

  • 4 of 5

My family of four (2 adults, 2 teen girls) and I stayed at this apartment in Roma for four days July 2014 while we explored the city. The apartment was comfortable and adequate while we enjoyed all the beauty and charm of Roma. It is located in a great spot within the old city, easy walking to all of the sites, many restaurants to choose from in the area, and was a welcome respite at the end of each day. The manager was very responsive to emailing or phone calls if we had questions. And our on-site manager met us at our door to explain the facilities, Wi-Fi-, etc. It is not a big apartment and has one small bath, but it worked fine for our purposes. There are several flights of stairs to climb to access the apartment, something to consider when hauling luggage. Overall, if you are looking for a 'home base' while exploring Roma, this apartment will fit the bill.

We very much enjoyed our stay in this comfortable and clean apartment. It was perfectly situated for exploring Rome and for walking to great restaurants in the evening. Luca arranged transportation to and from the airport, which made the trip a breeze.
