My wife and I spent several years going to this condo as our vacation get away, and were finally able to buy it. We feel that the location is the best in the Kona Islander Inn complex, and the view is wonderful. We have spent lots of time living there, and have put lots of effort into decorating it.

This studio condo was a dream come true for my wife and I when we purchased it in
February 2003 from Linda and Grant Baseman. We feel that it is the nicest studio in
the Kona Islander complex.
We have enjoyed whole stay in this studio. Very very clean and in very good location, great sea view, no beach next to (10-15 min walk to small beach) but best way to explore this island and the beaches is by renting car and then you can find everything in the flat what you need for beach. There is two lots of stairs to go up so if you feel you can handle your luggage and shift up - this condo is good for you:) The communication with owner is excellent. Internet nice and quick. One thing I would add it's safe box just to have peace of mind . You can leave at the reception safe box but I would prefer in the condo but this is my personal view. I would highly recommend to everyone this place as is one of my favourite and I would suggest to the owner to create a nice name for this place so it could get nice reviews on tripadvisor as the one on tripadvisor is for all aparapartmentstments and some of the other apartments are giving bad reviews for all.
This condo exceeded our expectations! It is perfectly located to everything, we walked everywhere. In our two month stay we rented a car for only one week to explore the rest of the Island. We had some problems getting mail at first, but the ladies at the front desked were very helpful in getting it fixed and to us. The condo has a beautiful view of the ocean. We would leave the door open and fall asleep to the sound of the waves on the shore. The condo is very clean and perfectly organized. Anything we needed was available, sewing kit, sun screen, snorkel gear, hats, everything! The bed was very comfortable. There are some stairs but nothing too strenuous, good exercise. We will be back!!!
This was perfect for us! It was right downtown in the middle of Kona. We enjoyed the scenery from the balcony and all the availability of the restaurants and shops within walking distance. The owners were the best! We would definitely stay again and suggest others to stay there as well.
The studio is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. We loved the location and were surprised at how quiet and comfortable it was. The grounds are very well kept and the pool and Jacuzzi were perfect Don't lose your parking pass!! They charge $25 for a replacement!! Parking was no problem. We always found a spot.
We stayed there from 4/30/14-5/7/14 and I am so glad we did! It was a perfect location to everything in downtown Kona and right across the street from the ocean! I fell asleep to the sound of ocean waves every night--so relaxing! The bed was comfortable, and there were extra blankets and pillows in the closet just in case. The condo was clean with cute decorations. Unlike the photos, there is a flat screen TV now, though we never really used it. AC worked fine, but really didn't need it since the breeze off of the ocean cooled the place down enough. The condo came with everything we needed too. It even had coolers, snorkle equipment, boogie boards, and beach chairs for when we went to the various beaches in the area. The pool and hot tub at the resort were nice, and I loved the tiki torches that were all around the place. The Inn's landscaping was very beautiful too! Ginger, plumeria, and banana trees everywhere. We were even able to eat some of the bananas right off one of the trees. Also, we didn't have any problems checking in or out. Rick was very nice and he made the rental process extremely easy. All-in-all, I am very happy we choose to stay there and would definitely recommend it to others. I hope to be able to stay there again someday! Thank you Rick and Colleen!
At first I was unsure about renting out an owner owned unit ... Richard was very patient regarding all my questions! Once I got settled in, I realized just how great a choice I had made. I traveled alone so I probably was a bit more hesitant than the average traveler. However, once I got acquainted with the area, I was so happy about this unit.
The unit was adorable, perfect "Island" theme... the balcony...you can hear the ocean from the balcony, as well as see it! Walk downstairs, and a few feet, and your on Ali'i Drive. Great spot to walk to any of Ali'i Drive's restaurants, bars, attractions, and shops. You meet some great local people just wandering around the area. Farmers market almost next door- try out the pineapple & banana with chocolate chip loaf! I felt safe and comfortable (the bed is very cozy!) during my short stay. Also, if you do have a car, there are some great beaches along the way, and you can drive a couple of hours to the volcanoes, etc. while taking in the views. Only wished I had booked for longer! Oh and the unit's caretaker, Sherill, is great. I had to call her to ask a question and she was just so lovely to speak to.
Next time I plan on staying in Kona I will definitely be contacting Rick and Colleen!
