Our house is in the Tahoe Donner community of Truckee, CA. The 3 decks (with furniture), hot tub and BBQ are great for enjoying the outdoors in summer and fall. The house is fully furnished with all the amenities: nicely-stocked kitchen with all the utensils, cooking items and serving dishes; Wi-Fi; stereo with CD and aux input for your MP3; inviting wood stove in the great room; 2 TVs with cable. The Great Room (living room, dining room and kitchen) are in a large open area which is great for entertaining. Master BR has private Jacuzzi tub and separate shower. You will have access to all Tahoe Donner amenities including 3 swimming pools, tennis, golf, fitness center, equestrian center and a private marina at Donner Lake. Historic downtown Truckee is only a few minutes away with shops and great restaurants. The Truckee community park has a skate park, disc golf course and amphitheater with summer concerts. 8 ski resorts within 15 minute!

Notes: This is a great vacation home for the family. We have 2 kids (ages 10 and 7) and they love to go to our vacation home. There are so many activities available to the family. Winter skiing/boarding, XC skiing and snowplay area are all close by. Spring/Summer/Fall activities abound.

A Home Away From Home

My family and I recently returned from a 10 day vacation to Northern Lake Tahoe. We had the pleasure of staying at Gordon's beautiful property. The best way to sum up our experience would be that it felt like a home away from home. In more detail the house was very comfortable, in a great location, very clean, had a good layout, was well equipped, and had a very nice kitchen. The WiFi internet connection was a welcome bonus, as was the spa after a hard days skiing.

Gordon was also great to deal with. The instructions he provided, via email and in the visitor's book at the house, proved to be well thought out and easy to follow. His suggestion to take our daughter to the nearby Tahoe Donner for her first time trying skiing proved to be an excellent idea.

Our family consisted of 4 adults and 2 young children. The house provided plenty of room for the girls to play and have fun (lots of good hiding spots for hide and seek). The area immediately around the house and the front balcony also proved great for making snowmen, having snowball fights and general fun in the snow for the girls.

We skied at Tahoe Donner (6-7 minutes drive time from the driveway to the carpark), Squaw Valley (22-24 min) and Alpine Meadows (27-29 min).

As you can tell, we really enjoyed the time we spent at this home and would highly recommend it if you are looking for a place to temporarily call home in Tahoe.

A gorgeous mountain retreat - deluxe accomodations

We had a wonderful weekend skiing at Tahoe, and the accommodations at this home made the time truly special for our two families. We came to a warm home that was ready to go for our vacation. The entire process from booking to moving out was simple, with excellent instructions regarding access to the home, the wood stove, hot tub and WiFi from the owner. The kitchen is ready for gourmet cooking with all the utensils you want, a spacious food prep and eating area, and wonderfully inviting living room for lounging after a full day of skiing. Not to mention the large, easy to operate hot tub that was ready to use within 2 hours of our arrival! We had 9 people in our 2 families, and there was plenty of room for sleeping, reading, and recreating. The home was immaculate when we arrived, and the property is well maintained by the owner. Located within an easy drive of North Shore ski areas, this is a perfect location. They even plowed the driveway before our arrival, and when it snowed during our stay. We plan to rent this unit again next year, and highly recommend it for both summer and winter vacations. I only rated it "5" because there wasn't any higher rating - it exceeded our expectations!
