These cottages sit on Polperro's outer harbour wall and are probably the most romantic, self catering, holiday cottages in Cornwall. You will not find accommodation closer to the sea nor so full of history!

During winter storms, heavy wooden shutters protect the windows, as the waves break on the rocks below. Inside, you can sit in front of a roaring open fire. You are snug and safe behind thick stone walls, which have faced the sea and been home for fishermen for hundreds of years. You can watch the fishermen preparing their boats and landing their catches. These must be the most popular and sought after holiday self catering cottages in Cornwall - there is rarely a week when they are not both occupied. These cottages are large but, OUT OF SEASON, they are priced for 2 people.

Details for Lanlawren Cottage 4 Bedrooms, Sleeps 8, 3 Bathrooms

Lanlawren Cottage is one of those beautiful garden cottages completely on its own facing South and only a mile from the sea. Lanlawren means Valley of the Foxes. This house is just 3 miles along the Coast West of Polperro. Lanlawren is a beautiful and spacious house with llarge upstairs drawing room with woodburner. 4 bedrooms, 2 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a third bathroom shared with bedrooms 3 & 4. There is a separate dining-room with woodburner. For twenty years, we had hoped that one day, we would be able to buy this idyllic garden cottage. It has a wonderful, sunny South facing aspect, no neighbours, total privacy and the sea just over the hill. The Cottage is very old with a wealth of features. The staircase is lit by a full height Cathedral type window. The timbers appear to have been variously salvaged from an old church and a mill. visitors have access to an indoor pool with sauna, spa and gym. Also 4 tennis courts available locally.

    For more accurate rates please telephone.
  • Where a booking is made before 31 December for a holiday after 1 June a 10% deposit is payable. A further 40% is due on 1 March. The balance is due 6 weeks before your holiday.
    We accept credit cards or debit cards in the UK.
  • Electricity is included. First basket of logs free. We charge at cost for wood and coal. The first parking space is included.
