Great location, but house definitely needs some “love”

Just got back from our week vacation and we had a great time. The location of the house is great and the beach right across the street is perfect. We were a bit disappointed in the condition of the house though. The house itself is beautiful, but could use a little work. Pulling into the front, the front lawn (if you can call it that) was just mowed weeds. Then when you look up at the awesome balconies in the front, there was rust on it. I understand that with the saltwater it happens, but in looking at the other houses around it, they did not have the same issue.
Once you get into the house, most of the walls are in desperate need of a fresh coat of paint. Also the carpet in the bottom room was just gross. I had to go out and buy a pair of flip flops because I didn’t want to walk barefoot in the room. On the top floor in the bathroom that was connected to the bunk bed room, the toilet seat didn’t even fit on the size of the toilet, it was too small so there was a gap between the seat and the rim of the toilet. Also in one of the bedrooms on the main floor, it smelled like pee (which is a possibility since animals are allowed in the house). Just some minor things, on the main floor, there really needs to be a shower. There is only a bathtub, the old fashioned kind, and most people do not take baths. Also a few of the doors do not fully close, the stair railings were very loose in some areas and the arms on quite a few chairs were either missing or about to come off.
Then in the back with the pool, in the pavers there were tons of weeds and ant hills, the wall was covered in mold (just needed to be pressure washed) and the “lawn” was basically cut down weeds, with old beer/soda cans, cigarette butts and overgrown bushes.
I understand this is a rental house and they go through a lot, but this is not our first rental house, so we have something to compare it to. But even with the issues listed above, this is really a great house. Location is great, lots of open space for large groups, plenty of parking, pool and hot tub are great. But like I said above, this house just needs a little more loving for the price it is renting for in our opinion.

Owner's Response: It's quite an eye-opener when you get a review like this and the guests never called or sent me any kind of request. I am very receptive to any complaints. I fired my property manager today who has been with me for nearly four years. There are a few vacant days before Summer officially starts and I plan on taking care of the concerns you listed. Once again, I appreciate the criticisms, but really you have chosen a poor forum to voice them. I'm sure your stay could have been better if you would have given me a chance to address your concerns.
