Nearest Geisha District: The nearest Geisha District is called 'Miyagawa-cho' and its about a 10 minute walk from the house. Miyagawa-cho is famous for accommodating most Maiko (apperentice Geisha) and you will run into them on the street all the time, especially between the hours of 4pm and 6pm.
World Heritage Listed Sites: Must-see Kiyomizu Temple is about 20 mins walk from the house, while Sanju Sangen Do is about a 10 minute walk away from the house. All the other sites including Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Palace) are also easily accessible by trains, bus or taxi from the house.
