About Gail Kroon
We purchased this property in 1990 while our children were still quite young. After a couple of years we decided to build this house for a 'get away' from the fast pace central Florida life. Because there were many months when we could not be in NC, we decided to rent it out to mountain vacationers who could enjoy the beautiful scenery and quiet tranquil life that we experienced. We found a photo of the house plan in our local newspaper and loved it, sent off for the blueprints and worked with a local contractor to build it.

Why Gail Kroon chose Burnsville
Because we live in Florida we were looking for a small town to relax in with cool temperatures year round. We scouted out 3 different locations in North Carolina and Tennessee. We visited all three while on vacation one year and picked this one, our favorite.
What makes this house unique
We were interested in finding property in an elevation that would yield cool temperatures in the summer. This property is located 3,600'. It's perfect, not too high in case there is snow in the winter and high enough to remain cool in the summer. We especially enjoy our bird feeders on the balcony and the mountain views of the Black Mountains from the living room, dining room, kitchen and bedrooms.
