This estate is unique in balancing high-end amenities with easy accessibility to the plethora of outdoor activities that the region offers. The home is most appealing to those interested in enjoying the fast paced activities of the resort along with unlimited, quiet, peaceful, romantic, nature-oriented activities. Guests can relax amidst the rugged forest and massive frost heaved boulders or day hike the various trails to take advantage of the scenic overlooks of the densely forested, fern covered terrain. Available activities vary by season and include golfing, hiking, biking, dirt biking, quad riding, whitewater rafting, trout fishing, bird watching, skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, tubing and sledding. In the winter, the resort often receives substantial snow falls even when bordering areas (less than 10 miles away) have little to no snow accumulation.
There are few private residences on resort property in Western Pennsylvania. The majority of private residences that do exist have suboptimal views, uneven terrain and are not located near the resort’s amenities. This home was designed by architect Kevin Hayes and built by Ric Davis as a private vacation retreat and is now being rented for the first time. Most rental properties attempt to optimize the owner’s profit through savings on construction materials, furnishings, and other amenities. However, this residence’s quality rivals that of 5-star accommodations and is sure to provide an unforgettable escape for you and your family.
The home itself is entered through a private drive with stone pillars marking entrance onto the property. The circular drive welcomes you to the front of the home while a side drive provides direct garage access. The orientation of the home combined with the liberal use of glass and skylights provides minimal disturbance of the area’s natural beauty. The home is three levels with exterior materials limited to mostly cedar, stone and glass. There is a two-sided, multi-level wrap around deck as well as a lower deck off of the ground floor family room. Many of the rooms have extensive floor to ceiling windows, thereby blurring the interior-exterior border and allowing guests to enjoy the classical rugged beauty of the mountains.
