The four bedroom house is part of a family owned vacation villa located on Playa Santa overlooking the bay and town of Ensenada. The dining room and kitchen of the house open up to a big terrace with tropical vegetation and impressive view over the Caribbean Sea. The patio has hammocks, garden chairs and a BBQ available to make your stay a true outdoor tropical experience. The living area has cable TV as well as the master bed room. The house is designed openly and allows a fresh breeze go through. The famous beach Playa Santa is only a few steps below the property. The house also offers an equipped kitchen, air conditioning in all bedrooms, DVD, two twin size beds in one bed room and queen size beds in the other three bed rooms. The master bedroom has its own bath and comes with a great view on the beach and bay. Apart from a spacious garden terrace there is another big terrace upstairs on the second level.

Fantastic Time in Guanica!

The house was wonderful. It was spacious, clean, filled with towels, had a glorious sundeck with a bbq, completely stocked kitchen, and was right on a perfect beach. It was in a safe neighborhood, easily found following the very specific and useful directions provided by the owner. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone looking for a tropical getaway on a low-key, beautiful beach.

Disillusioned

There is no better word to describe my stay than disappointment. I was advised that there was a resently resolved water issue upon my arrival. In actuality, the issue was no where near resolved and the fact that I wasn't told about the problem and given a refund/opportunity to book another place prior to my arrival was just shamefull. The water pressure was gone--needless to say the whole party had to shower and use the bathroom w/ pots/cups. I had tried speaking w/ the owner that same evening but it was evident that sleep, not our lack of water was more important. The issue was discussed in the a.m. w/ the owner. Supposedly it was to be resolved. By that same afternoon--there was absolutely no water. The owner was notified and didn't bother to call me back for 2 days (1day prior to our departure from the property) after a neighbor called concerned about the issue that was blatant by the leaking pipe/hole in front of the property. Although the owner claims to have been working behind the scenes to have this resolved, we had no knowledge of this at all, since there was no communication. My father had to intermittenly fix the pipe so that we can shower & use the toilet for the remainder of our time there. Later to find out that the owner new about the water problem long before our arrival as it had been ongoing for weeks. If this wasn't enough, the place that had supposedly been cleaned prior to our arrival was filthy. The shower curtains hadn't been replaced in who knows how long filled w/ mildew that was repulsive. The air conditioners' filters were so clogged that we had to clean them removing clumps of accumulated dust. The toilets were gross, the floors needed to be swept. We had to clean the sinks w/ bleach. Whomever is being paid to clean is ripping the owner off. Thankfully, I was at least re-imbursed the cleaning fee. Although, the owner didn't bother to re-imburse us for the parts and labor it took for us to ensure we had some water (clearly not our responsibility during vacation but had no choice). I felt the owner handled the situation poorly & irresponsibly. I had to deal w/ the backlash from the other 7 people and felt regrettably responsible & embarrassed for the ordeal. It's as if b/c the payment was already made, there wasn't any sense of responsibility. As much as it was a lesson learner for me, I hope it was also for the owner.

It is a beautiful home w/ a gorgeous view. It's a shame that such a property isn't more maintained.
Owner's Response: To our future tenants: We would like to mention, that we are trying our best to provide a great service, but this requires as well that our tenants communicate with us while staying with us. Once the vacation is over, we can't help anymore and only realize to late from frustrated reviews that things went wrong.

We do disagree with our tenants comments and would like to express that all our efforts were directed to calling the AAA (public water) services, we talked with Supervisors and can prove our claim. Later on we asked for an investigation on charges that were not reasonable, because we were not given water services and they granted a discount, we have the letter that proves it. We have a 400 gal.water tank so there was water, what we did not have was pressure (because of the outside rupture) so the use of the resource was not optimal. The father of our tenant talked to us on the phone, and told us not to worry. By coincidence he is a plumber and said he saved the situation and that they had a great time.

Now, indeed the house has not been remodeled recently - so furniture and bath rooms are not the most modern - but everything works and is being cleaned on a regular basis.

We believe that we are offering our property for reasonable rental price. To be quite honest travelers couldn't even get a tiny room in a guest house with a shared bath room along the hall in Puerto Rico for a similar rate. Tenants who are looking for a luxury and recently remodeled rental close to the beach could expect a different price range.

Fantastic Beach House Overlooking Beautiful Beach

If you want to stay in one of Puerto Rico's most beautiful beaches and in a lovely, clean, and spacious two-story concrete Villa overlooking the Caribbean Sea, this is the place. The property has a lovely landscaped fenced yard with beautiful views of this white sand beach and its turquoise color sea, even more beautiful than you see in the photos. The property is spotless with a full kitchen, spacious rooms, and all required amenities including A/C in the rooms. The master bedroom with sea views is truly awesome. The service provided is top rate. Property is located in an access controlled area and is a short distance from a fishing community with good restaurants and is a 20 minute car ride from La Parguera Phosphorescent Bay and Fishing Village and many other local attractions and beaches. I would definitely recommend this vacation home to family and friends

We just had a great time at this awesome location. It is a super quiet get away. No noise, no cars... just you and your family... all relaxed. Everybody was happy to have the beach right in front. The house is spacious, hasn't been remodeled for a while, but it is clean and to hang out at the patio feels wonderful. Can totally recommend it for what it rents for.

The House

My family and i just stayed here. I have to say the house was filthy. For a $100. cleaning fee I can only tell by the clean sheets on the beds. If you weren't staying in the masterbedroom you didn't have a view or a working air conditioner. The view and location was spectacular to the beach as well as the short walk. There are no restaurants near by. Prepare to cook your own food. The water pressure in the showers were horrible. The hot water worked on occasion. Not even the floors or bathrooms were cleaned. WOuld not recommend this house because of the filth!!!!
Owner's Response: To our future tenants: We are truly surprised about this review since we did not receive a single call or any note from our tenants while they were staying at our house and we even realized later in a conversation with the husband that only his wife felt so strongly disappointed.

However we always like to help make your vacation as pleasant as possible, but this is impossible if you don't communicate with us.

Now, indeed the house has not been remodeled recently - so furniture and bath rooms are not the most modern - but everything works and is being cleaned on a regular basis. We wonder if the tenant refers to the fact that the house is not the most modern rental when she talks about "filth", although we are appalled at her choice of words because it is not a dirty place and was cleaned by a professional cleaner the day before her arrival.

$100 cleaning fee for a party of 8 and a two level house with 4 bed rooms and 2.5 bath rooms is, in our understanding, a reasonable amount of money as well as our rental price. A group of 8 persons staying for $1250 for 7 nights in a house with terrace and ocean view - that is less than $25 per person per night. To be quite honest for that rental price you can't even get a tiny room in a guest house with a shared bath room along the hall in Puerto Rico. If you are looking for a luxury and recently remodeled rental close to the beach you could expect a different price range.

Regarding the view; it is the nature of most buildings to have 4 sides. If one is facing east to see the rising sun and ocean the other sides are obviously facing in other directions and don't have a view. From what we understand about architecture there are very few houses where all rooms are facing in one direction and get the same ocean view.

Last but not least to mention: Water pressure is always an issue all over Puerto Rico. This is something we would love to be solved but it is out of our hands to improve the public water system.

Other than that, our pictures of the house are updated and it looks exactly like the photos. The photos do not show anything that is not there. We are renting the house the way it is shown on the pictures and we do find that sometimes our tenants are having expectations beyond what our photos are showing. We have had many very happy tenants at this house and we are hoping to welcome some more.
