'YELLOW CREEK CABIN'
A very secluded creek side cabin within 14 miles of Robbinsville.
Come to “Yellow Creek Cabin” and step back in time while preserving all of the conveniences of home. Located on a private road, you can be sure this is one of the most secluded listings you will find. From the front porch you will enjoy seeing no cars, no homes, and no people while listening to the noisy trout stream that meanders around you. From the family room window you can watch trout rise in Yellow Creek a designated North Carolina trout stream. We are also only minutes away from several hatchery supported waters.
Our cabin is HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE, all wood, thoughtfully decorated Appalachian style cabin. It has two bedrooms each with queen beds, two full baths, and a queen sleeper sofa. It also offers a large fully covered porch facing the trout stream. Beside the stream there is a fire pit, park style charcoal grill and eating area (kids bring your wading shoes).

The vacation at Yellow Creek cabin was great. The cabin is extremely clean and well kept and beautifully decorated. Everything was just as stated in the description. We felt at home the moment we arrived. Use of the creek and campfire was much fun with nice views. Their is a lot of outdoor activities: fishing in Yellow Creek or other creeks/rivers/lakes nearby, hiking (we went on several trails including the AT), the Dragons Tail, Cades Cove, Cherokee Reservation, Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, and the Great Smoky National Park, only to name a few (we did them all in a weeks time). Yellow Creek Cabin is a gem in an isolated mountain region, we hope to come back soon.
This is exactly what my wife and I needed. A true escape from the daily grind called life. The location gives access to many activities, yet far enough away that all you hear is the sound of nature. The sound of Yellow Creek flowing over the rocks is one that will forever be remembered as a favorite. The cabin is well furnished and extremely clean. Herbert and Kathy have a real treasure in this property. This is one for the record books, favorite mountain vacation ever.
If you are looking for a slice benevolent tranquility, I recommend you look no further. I attended the Minis on the Dragon 2014 event, and I must say, what a way to unwind! The cabin came with everything I needed and actually SAVED me money when compared to comparable resort options. It was in such good order that I found it hard to move anything out of place . . . so I also recommend Yellow Creek if you are a tidy person!
It is evident that Herbert and Kathy have a true passion for the area, even going the extra mile to provide a full list of activities and attractions right at your fingertips; just look on the coffee table when you get there.
And . . . if you are a driver . . . the legendary route 129 is only 20 minutes away . . . and the roads to and from the cabin are a fun drive too!
I give the whole package 20 out 5 stars!
Thanks Herbert, Kathy and son for such an awesome experience!
My wife, 2 year old daughter and I stayed at the cabin June 10-14, 2013. This squeaky-clean cabin is pretty much exactly as the photos and descriptions suggest. The only difference is there are even more "cabin-y" decorations adorning the walls than when the photos were likely taken. You are probably considering this cabin because it is away from everything, and it is (even cell signal and internet), yet you are still close enough for many day trips should you so desire. I ate every meal on the porch (or by the fire - hot dogs and smores) and even managed to catch a few nice sized trout for fresh fish dinner which I cooked on the provided camp grill (bring your own charcoal). My daughter and I loved frolicking in the refreshingly cold creek. The cabin is stocked with brochures and maps for day trips, has Direct TV and dozens of popular DVD movies for your enjoyment. The beds are comfortable, the furnishings nice and if you have a smallish group you will NOT regret renting this cabin. The owner even calls the cabin phone after you arrive to make sure you are in okay and to ask you if you have any questions. So that you know this is a real review, I will provide the only negative comment I can actually think of: the well water has a very slight sulfur smell, but that would in no way scare me off from renting the place again. In fact, if I was to own a mountain cabin, this place would be it.
My Fiancé and I just returned from our first visit to Yellow Creek Cabin & it will not be our last. The minute we stepped onto the front porch, we felt the cares of the world taken off our shoulders & let the sound of the rushing creek envelope us in the peace & solitude of the surrounding mountains. The cabin was everything we dreamed of and more. The Epperson have a beautiful home and we were truly blessed to be able to enjoy it. We Trout Fished every day & unwound by a campfire every night; The leaves were at their peak & we just couldn’t ask for anything more. We found our little piece of Heaven and we promised each other we would return soon.
My husband and I can't imagine a finer place to spend our honeymoon than Yellow Creek cabin. It was everything we wanted and more: The stream is beautiful, and the owners, Herbert and Kathy, have done an excellent job of creating a cozy outdoor space in which to enjoy it. The cabin was exceptionally clean and everything seemed very new. The kitchen had everything we needed (and we tend to do a lot of cooking). We felt like we were far from the civilized world, and it was blissful. Herbert and Kathy were very responsive and generous, and seemed genuinely concerned about our experience at the cabin. We will most definitely be back!
