Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco) is a quaint old fishing village, now a very popular resort on the Gulf of California (Sea of Cortez). Notes: Please don't smoke in the house. You can sit on the porch and smoke. This is a great private house for families, possibly two families can rent together. The beach is very close to the door in each case and wonderful for children to explore.

The Best of Locations in Rocky Point: It is the best of locations in Rocky Point, far from the 'maddening crowds' yet close to everything happening in Rocky Point. Casa Serena is at the end of a sand road leading to the very tranquil beach...just steps (30 feet) to the beach. Casa Serena is conveniently located one mile inside the Las Conchas Gated Community for a secure and tranquil home setting but only 2 miles from Old Port and Rocky Point for shopping, restaurants, night life, ATV, kayak and Fishing rentals, Sunset Cruises, etc.

The Best Beach: Casa Serena is 30 feet from the best beach in Las Conchas with long flat sand bars at Low Tide, enough Tide Pools for beach combing, and exciting wave action at High Tide. It is a clean, uncrowded and serene beach for everyone--sunbathing, sand castle building, swimming, fishing from shore, beach combing and walking, with an occasional friendly vendor to offer horseback ride, banana boat rides, kites, etc. Next to the Security Gate is the Aquarium and beachside Restaurant. One half-mile past Casa Serena is CEDO which offers a Museum and tours of their Oceanic and Aquatic Life Studies of the Sea of Cortez.

The House and Patios are spacious.: Casa Serena has lots of space for parking. a shaded patio for relaxing and grilling/eating outside with open access to the kitchen and the living areas. A shaded sand box is provided by the back patio to entertain children while you relax over snacks and Margaritas in the back shaded patio. The sun deck has speculator vista of the sea for watching for dolphins, privacy for sunbathing in whatever you choose, and with low-lighting in the neighborhood it offers incredible night sky star gazing.

Slow down and enjoy water as the tide slowly rolls in and out. This is great place to decompress with family and friends. The house is air conditioned and has everything you need from two bathrooms, a complete kitchen and a great roof deck looking over the beach and well kept neighborhood. My wife and I took our baby girl on her first big trip and first swim in the ocean. The master bedroom was cool, quiet and even had a crib!

Our friends also loved the trip, house, short walk to the water and many opportunities to take a siesta. Just add some cervezas and your are set.

Rocky Point has a modern supermarket with all the necessities like bottled water, fresh tortillas, fruits, veggies, chorizo, tons of Mexican cheeses and tequila (and lots of the regular fare for the less adventurous). One good stop at the grocery store and there is almost no need to leave the house. We ventured into town one evening and had a great time. Most of the time we just enjoyed the beach, sunsets and slow pace.

After setting up our stay, we received detailed instructions on how to find the house, rules of the house and community, local contact numbers and frequently asked questions. When we arrived the house was clean and organized. All we had to do was drop our bags and put a couple of things in the refrigerator.

We will definitely visit Casa Serena again.

Casa Serena is truly a vacation home away from home! It has all the amenities one needs to have a comfortable, carefree holiday. We enjoyed morning coffee and lovely sunrises on the rooftop sundeck. In the evenings on the sundeck, the sunsets and starry skies were spectacular over the beautiful Sea of Cortez. We also enjoyed watching shrimp boats plying their trade at night and going downtown to eat fresh shrimp the next day. Relaxing on the beach and enjoying the changing tides was a real plus for us. The owners take great pride in making sure that you will enjoy your stay.

If you want to relax...this is the place to be

Casa Serena fits any age, any adventure you may wish to have. The closeness to the beach/water is wonderful even if you are not a water person, like me, but for my husband it was like heaven on earth. He loves the water and would spend hours on end in the water snorkeling or just sitting in his chair watching. The evenings were spent on the upper deck. Watching the sun go down, the shrimp boats (counting how many we could see with the naked eye on any given night), the moon and the stars and the Milky Way. I believe we heard a splash when the moon went down... unbelievable. A very relaxed place to be.

Great Getaway for Friends & Family!

When we arrived we were very impressed by the house and it's location. We were close to everything and the surrounding homes are beautiful! We were only about 30 steps away from the beach and spent a lot of time on the huge rooftop patio, soaking in the magnificent view. All of the appliances and the AC worked great and there was plenty of room to stow our gear. The large living room was a great place to gather and has plenty of windows to let in the sun. The community is gated and I especially liked the fact there was a garage to keep my vehicle in. Although we had no need, we were given several numbers of local contacts in case there were any issues with the property. I will definately go again and will bring my six year old with us. There is plenty of patio area for her to play on and I am sure she will love the beach!

Great Private House

Casa Serena was a beautiful place to stay. The house was very well kept and had many accessories needed for a vacation rental. Even though it is not on the beach it is really 30 steps or less to the beach. You are able to sit on the roof top and relax, watch the ocean and get sun.
I would recommend this property to all that seek a nice relaxing place to stay.
