Immaculate home with well stocked kitchen in the most convenient location! Great for families!

  • 5 of 5
This home is amazing in every way and perfectly accommodated our group. It is extremely clean which is a major requirement for us. The kitchen is huge and well stocked with everything one would need to prepare all meals including great extras like a crab pot, magic bullet, crock pot, and more. The dining table seats 8 comfortably. The living room has two large sitting areas with couches and a round dining table which offered plenty of room for everyone to be together but not right on top of each other. My husband and I were in the downstairs master bedroom which was great for us and our 3 year old daughter. We brought a twin size airbed for her and there was plenty of room to set her up and still move about the room. The upstairs bedrooms perfectly accommodated the family we traveled with which included two parents and daughter in a pack-n-play in the master, son and brother in the double twin room, and Grandpa in the single twin. The only drawback for those sleeping upstairs is that the bathrooms are both downstairs, but this is the only minor inconvenience for the upstairs sleepers and no one minded at all. The bathrooms are super clean and modern. The outside areas are beautifully landscaped and with the large yard it nearly triples the size of the space. The neighborhood was quiet and residents were friendly. The location couldn't be better. It is literally a 5 minute walk to Main Street, Chester Park, coffee shops, shopping, markets, restaurants etc. In addition to all this the home has charm and character. The decor is tasteful and intentional and somehow keeps a rustic mountain vibe but includes modern elements where you want them most. By our second day we were so happy we called the owner to secure the place for the same weekend next year! I can't say enough about the home and it's friendly, thoughtful owners.

A refreshing getaway not too far away

  • 4 of 5
I would have to say for a vacation with a family with adults and grandchildren this couldn't been a more perfect place to stay. The place is spacious a bit quirky but adds to the overall feel of the area. The convience of being right in town within walking distance of pizza parlor, coffee shops, as well as gift shops was excellent. Enjoying the creek in the yard, and having everything at the home we needed. It was such a wonderful experience we will be doing it again.

Awesome vacation cabin

  • 5 of 5
My husband, 14 year ols son and his 15 year old friend rented this wonderful cabin at the end of Aug 2010 for a week. When we first got there, it wasn't as secluded as I had hoped. It actually ended up being perfect. My husband enjoyed being able to walk down to the little coffee shop in the morning. We both enjoyed riding our bikes down to the local market. My son and his friend enjoyed walking around town and walking to the park where they met other local kids. They had a really yummy malt shop not far that we would go and have ice cream at. The cabin had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, my son and his friend liked the fact that they could share a room but sleep in seperate beds. The bedroom decor was great, the bathrooms were nice with great showers, the kitchen was nice and big with a great dining table for all of us to eat at. We really enjoyed cooking and BBQing. Not to mention having a washer & dryer-wonderful. It was also great to go out and sit next to the creek and listen to it flow, or just have the windows open and listen to it. We really had a wonderful time. It only took minutes to get to a place to go ATVing, shooting, kayaking, rafting, swimming etc... Lassen Volcanic National Park is a must visit with only a 20 minute or so drive. Thank you very much for providing a great place to crash after a long day out.

Home base for summer activities

  • 5 of 5
Had much fun staying at this house. Great location for getting to all the Mt Lassen/Lake Almanor activities. Just a couple blocks off the main street in Chester. Home was very comfortable and clean. Nice residential neighborhood was good for an early morning or late evening dog walk There is no phone line and my cell phone didn't work in Chester (Virgin mobile/Sprint phone) but the one functioning pay phone in town is just a couple minutes walk away at the "Corner Store".
