Kevin and I enjoyed our stay at your cabin. The area is beautiful and we had fun exploring the Smokies.
My boyfriend & I spent a week in this little cabin and enjoyed every minute. My mother had just passed away a month before we went on vacation and just being able to relax and sit outside in the hot tub in the evening with the stars and lighting bugs was a great healing for me. We brought too much food but being able to cook our meals was very nice. We were unable to take dvantage of the canoe going down the river as time got away from us with al there was to do in the area. Clennie greeted us right after we got there and was a very pleasent fellow. Even though we were unable to try our luck at fishing in the pind, it was a lot of fun just feeding them. We wished we could have stayed longer and do some of the other things we wanted to do.
My husband and I stayed at this little piece of paradise for 3 nights. The cabin was in great condition, very clean and in a quiet area. I started and ended each day in the hot tub:) Our suggestion to the owner would be to add a 2nd rocking chair on the front porch and a recliner in the living room to make if feel more like home!! We had all the amenities we were seeking when we were searching for a place to stay in Franklin. The fishing was fun even though we weren't able to hook one:) The only thing we didn't have time to do is build a fire and make smores. Time just slip away with so many other things in the area to keep you busy. The weather was fantastic. With this being our second trip to Franklin we fell more in love with the area and now have purchased our own little piece of heaven in nearby Sylva.
Thank you Deanie for making this a very memorable vacation. I enjoyed all the conversations we had and you made us feel at home in your cabin. Thanks for sharing it with us and the many vacationers who have stayed in the past.
My husband and I really enjoyed the cabin. The fishing was a plus for my husband Mark. It was well stocked and clean. We stayed From that June 9- 16th. This was our first time going on a vacation by ourselves so it was a blessing to be able to actually do it. And the owner Mrs. Gunder is a Godsend. Very nice and kept in-touch with everything. She made booking and checking out so smooth. And Mr. Carter is a very nice. A+++++++ for everyone and everything.
We had a great time. Very relaxing to sit on the porch and watch the river or while we fished for trout out of the pond. Thanks so much. We're thinking of coming back in the fall.
My husband and I stayed four nights at the cabin and enjoyed it very much. The cabin itself is wonderful...very clean and well equipped. There is also a hot tub at the back of the cabin that we were not inclined to use but looked adventurous.
We did some fishing in the Trout pond (novices!) and some exploring in the area. There is an amazing swinging bridge about 20 minutes away over the river. We saw deer but no snakes (whew!)
The owners are very kind and accomodating and helped with all our needs.
There is a killer Fridgedaire gas grill on the covered porch that my husband was VERY excited about. We had a very nice meal cooked out there. We brought most of our food with us in order to save money and since it is about 20 minutes to Ingles or Wal-Mart. The Wal-Mart is not a Super store with groceries...it has essentials. There are a variety od resturants in Franklin. We enjoyed "Hog Wild Bar-B-Que" alot.
We checked out some of the gem mines but decided to go mining on another trip.
The Smoky Mountain Center For the Performing Arts is a BEAUTIFUL venue on Hwy 441 just on the southern end of Franklin. We saw Steven Curtis Chapman in concert and had a great time. This was the second concert we had been to at that facility.
We came up from Atlanta on 685 to Hwy 441 and enjoyed the drive and views very much.
This cabin is extremely wonderful, interesting and a great value for the money.
Hope this helps!
My husband, our two large dogs, and I stayed at this cabin over the 4th. The cabin is very nice and clean. We had plenty of room. The cabin is off the main roads of town, but it does not take long to get to town. The river is on the other side of the road. We borrowed a canoe from the property and canoed down the river.
We drove into the Smokey mountains for sight seeing.
We recommend this site for a quiet weekend.
