We are a recently retired couple living in Rock Hill, SC. My husband is from Charlotte and I grew up in Miami Fl and have always loved the beach. We were so excited to find this cute cottage as it is just one block over from where we spent our honeymoon 38 years ago.
Carol & Dennis Frazier purchased this cottage in 2008
We like Oak Island since we spent our honeymoon there. Building codes limit all structures to three stories. A very family beach and we can walk-or ride bikes- to beach from our home.
We offer free bikes (7), a portable grill, crab nets and cage, beach toys and chairs for our guests.
Loved staying at this beach cottage!! Cozy, clean and lots of amenities! Would love to vacation here again!!
We had a wonderful time staying in Carol and Dennis Frazier's home! Everything was perfect when we arrived and love the area/neighborhood! The owners were super nice people and I had several email conversations with them prior to our trip and they answered all of my questions quickly and were most helpful! This is a wonderful place that you will love! It was quiet, yet there was plenty to do! Thank you for a great experience! We cannot wait to get back to Oak Island!
My husband and I stayed here with our dog and had a very relaxing and enjoyable time. The street is quiet and the location on Oak Island is very convenient. Lots of restaurants around and easy to get over the bridge to Southport, etc. We also loved the little park down the street (May Moore)...it's on the marsh and sunset there is so pretty. While the cottage is not right on the beach, it is only a two-minute drive and a ten minute walk. Parking is free at the beach which is wonderful. We'd love to come back.
We loved the convenience of having the home so close to the beach and that we could fix our own breakfast and lunch at the cottage. Adorable and convenient. Gracious owners. Such a treat.
My family and I loved our stay in this comfortable cottage and we hope to return. There was plenty of room for us and our two dogs. My two teenage boys LOVED the hammock on the screened in porch. The kitchen was well stocked, and we enjoyed preparing fresh seafood on the grill. Being a morning runner, I was especially thrilled with the level, paved roads in the quiet subdivision.
We have visited Myrtle, Virgina, and Daytona Beaches. This was our first time on Oak Island. Wow! We had no idea what we were missing.
We just returned from a wonderful stay at Oak Island. We could not have been happier with our stay. The house was the perfect little getaway and we were proud to call it "home", even if just for a week. It was equipped with just about everything you could need! We hope to return again in September! Thanks, Dennis and Carol, for sharing your home!
Oak Island is a quaint family beach. The island is 13 miles long, with the beach to the south side and the intercoastal on the north side. There is public beach access at almost any block. There are 4 fishing piers, and 2 marina on the island along with a host of fish markets and restaurants. If you like taking bike rides, this is the place to be. Southport is just a few minutes away as a historic seaport, with its many antiques and restaurant. You can take the Southport Ferry to Fort Fisher, Kure Beach and Carolina Beach. There is also a ferry to Bald Head Island. Wilmington is @ 30 miles north. It too is a historic seaport, but much larger. There are several parks for the kids. If you like island living, this is it.
