Island Vacation Hale
Our Island Hale is located on a quiet, Kamaaina street in one of Kailua’s finest neighborhoods. With its own gated private entrance, our tropical Hale provides a tranquil garden area to barbeque or sit back and relax at the end of your day in the sun.
Decorated with an Hawaiiana island flair, our studio suite includes a comfortable four-poster double bed, sitting area, closet and kitchenette with microwave, small refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, and hotplate.
From our studio suite, walk only one block to Kailua Bay and enjoy the ocean…swim, snorkel, surf, scuba dive, kayak, or read a good book! Whatever your ocean pleasure, Kailua Beach is the place to enjoy your tropical vacation…away from the crowds.
The town of Kailua is only a 20-minute drive from the hustle and bustle of downtown Honolulu, but it may as well be a world away. First and foremost a beach town, Kailua town also offers fun shops and great restaurants. But most of all, it is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy island life away from the crowds.
My husband and I grew up in the midwest, but we LOVE the ocean. We have lived in Hawaii for over 25 years. We found Kailua to be a wonderful place to raise our children and enjoy the ocean. We love the privacy of our neighborhood, yet it has easy access to Kailua Bay. Our kids learned to surf and paddle from our neighborhood's own ocean access! FUN IN THE SUN!!

Our vacation rental in located on the same property as our home. We built the vacation rental in 2003 so friends and family would have a nice, private, and comfortable place to stay when they visited.
Our vacation rental is a short walk to the ocean, a 5 minute drive to Kailua Beach, a 5-7 minute drive to Kailua shopping district. Public transportation is 3 blocks away (we use it often to get around). Enjoy taking a morning walk to Kailua Bay or Kailua Beach; watch the sunrise while sipping your morning coffee!
We had the best stay here. Loved the condo. Everything they provided for us was so useful. We made breakfast every morning and really had a great stay. Far from Waikiki but there is plenty to do in Kailua. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.
It is a very nice and clean place to stay. It is very small, but if you are just looking for a place to sleep and shower it is great. We had a very enjoyable time.
I cant really identify which kind of travelers this rental fits best. But for our purpose, which was to get some sleep between adventures, it did the job. For this to work, you need a car, as the location is to far away from the good hikes/adventures for you to walk there.
Campared to our expectations, based on the pictures which is presented here, Ill give it 4/5 stars. The reason I give it 3/5 is because of the strict rules. We paid both for cleaning and it was obligatory to buy insurance, on top of that we had to clean the apartment and make it look like we hadnt been there.
As I said - for our purpose it worked, but unless your on a budget, there might be better options
We enjoyed our stay at this rental. Jill & her husband are very nice. Beautiful neighborhood, close to the beach & shopping. Bed was a bit small but it was comfortable.

It was my job this time to plan the entire trip. I scored points with the wife by booking this unit! She didn't want to leave.
We have done the Waikiki thing before and wanted somewhere away from the hustle and bustle. This is it! If you still wanted to go to Waikiki (or anywhere, for that matter) it is easily within driving distance. Some of the features we liked best about this rental: the lanai is beautiful; the bed is comfortable; shopping/restaurants nearby; easy access up and down the island (North Shore, Kualoa Ranch, many beaches, etc); and quiet, friendly neighborhood. There were only two exceptions to the peace and quiet- Helicopters about 8am one morning from the Marine Corps Base nearby, and garbage trucks on another. The unit looks just like the pictures except for some recent improvements- flat screen TV, bar fridge with freezer, new microwave and a Keurig coffee machine. My fave update was the addition of a blackout curtains on the patio door. There is no air conditioning but as mentioned by other reviewers, the trade winds & ceiling fan tend to keep the unit comfortable. I would recommend this place to anyone going to O'ahu.
This was a work trip and I was driving to Honolulu everyday. The end of the H-3 freeway is a few minutes away and the trip to & from town was painless. The neighborhood was quiet. The wind in the palms and sound of the waves on the nearby beach made the place very peaceful at night. A perfect place to relax. My wife would love the decor and I will be back sometime with her along. I would definitely stay here again.
