THE IRISH RIVIERA

Think of a beach house, near the rocky beach. Then think of a beach house ON the beach. And then finally, think of a beach house OVER the beach. Right on the coast of Scituate, a town known as "the Irish Riviera" when I was growing up, this property is the quintessential NE beach cottage - but with full amenities and on demand cable., Fully stocked down to bathroom essentials, the house is roomy, clean, comfy and located far enough from the neighbors so you can feel some space but not so remote that you aren't near "Sandy Beach" - the NE equivalent of southern shores, the harbor, movies, food and all points above and below the Cape.
This home is very clean, well taken care of and perfect for a week or a month in traditional Massachusetts. The owner could not have been more accommodating and informative and the weekly rae for the home was very fair.
Scituate itself still maintains the traditional charm of the sixties, still boasts The Quarterdeck - the cool beads and army jacket store which was also the location for Cher's house in The Witches Of Eastwick but has a fair share of trendy little shops and bistros without morphing into a tourist trap.
The Scituate Lighthouse and jettys are not to be missed.
Every night the waves crash underneath the windows and the view of the ocean is breathtaking. For someone who now lives in Miami, this was an amazing treat. Go here. You will not be sorry.
