Hunter Vacation Rental house

We just had our annual fall yoga retreat at this property (we have one
every spring too). We come here because the house is very spacious and clean (we are a group of women only, so we have high standards!).
We also care a lot about functionality - you can rest in the house, have real fun (jacuzzi, pool able, deck) or just have a nice dinner party. Kitchen appliances are new; the house seems to have been recently renovated and there is the feel of "new and fresh" to it. Serenity and beautiful landscaping/nature are very important to us as well and after staying at a few other properties in the area, we really liked this one and plan on coming back.
After a nice day of yoga practicing, we would go to either hunter or
windham and have some fun on the town. The house is only a few minutes away from either town. We also like doing horse-back riding and hiking in the catskills park or the kaaterskills falls. Very good experience overall..

We stayed here for columbus day weekend. I'm also a homeowner on this website and I know what it entails to keep a house nice for renters. This house was filthy, toilets were soiled and bed linens from previous renters had been left on, hairs were found. The hottub was full of dirt and unusable. There are holes in the wall and windows that won't close properly in addition to the broken windows. The fireplaces had either NO screens (upstairs) or broken screens (downstairs) and are a fire hazard. The homeowner doesn't even provide firewood for rentals, which is basically standard in rental homes with fireplaces. There are many broken windows and the house has NO working heat. The owner thinks that having little mini-heaters for the bedrooms is sufficient, but it is not. I gave the owner all my complaints as well as photos of the filth and broken items, he did NOTHING....he made excuses about how hard it is to keep a rental house clean. NONSENSE....he never even offered remuneration at ALL and requires YOU the renter to pay for cleaning (which is not done). Shame on you for trying to present this home as a decent rental and shame on you for not trying to "make good" on my complaints. I would HIGHLY recommend you look elsewhere for a rental home, this one was awful.
