This 4-season waterfront retreat has an open floor plan, wood-burning fireplace, cheery, well-equipped kitchen, relaxing front porch with a porch swing, spacious screened back porch overlooks canal and is perfect for outdoor dining or watching the sun rise . In fall/winter, relax in front of fireplace, read, watch movies, work puzzles, work on your favorite indoor hobbies. This quiet, restful property at the Yeopim River is just 10 minutes to the Albemarle Sound by boat. Fish in your back yard off the dock, jet ski, boating or just sunbath, so much to do. Nearby are antique shops, restaurants and golf courses. The community swimming pool is about 5 blocks away, there are drag races on Sat. nights at a sanctioned eighth mile drag strip and bingo on Thursday nights w/$500 jackpot, both about 10 miles away. And don't forget to get the biggest double decker ice cone at the down town corner drug store in Hertford for only $.60.

This is a haven for water lovers with fishing, boating, paddle trails, coastal swamps & wetlands. The Snug Harbor Community Center offers a swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts, line dancing, quilting group, and a ladies non-aerobic workout. There are two area Golf and Country Clubs. The Hertford American Legion offers Bingo weekly ($500 top prize). There are antique stores, auction houses, and an architectural salvage store, furniture making classes, and live theater performances. Edenton has a summer collegiate baseball league team. Top Notch Ranch is on the bull riding circuit, Elizabeth City is on the competitive tractor power pulls circuit, Hertford offers Friday night auto drag-way racing. History and Museums include NC's northeast Civil War Heritage Trail, Museum of the Albemarle, Newbold-White House (1730 Quaker homestead) and the Beechtree Historic site (an assembly of 14 local pre-civil war houses). Enjoy sailing regatta's, bass fishing tournaments & pig-pickin's.

Wonderful, peaceful, relaxing vacation

My husband, daughter and I stayed here 4th of July week. It was great! The house had all the amenities you could ask for, and we fished off the dock every day. It was a great location to call home base: we went to Busch Gardens and the Outer Banks without all the headache of staying in those tourist traps. We also took in some fascinating history trips. We had a wonderful, peaceful relaxing vacation in this great little bungalow. Thanks for some great memories.

What a comfy place to call home! We enjoyed ourselves and got plenty of rest. Peaceful among the green grass, trees, water and outdoor creatures.

Just spent the week at this gorgeous property on the sound .This house is the perfect get-a-way house. Modern and up to date in every. And VERY CLEAN. Weather you want to relax or enjoy the water it is all there. And the people in the area could not have been nicer. this place is a 10 in our book. Thank you for the southern hospitality.
