Old Lyme Vacation Rental cottage

My husband and I spent the month of September in the cottage. It was spotless and well maintained. The kitchen has everything a gourmet needs to prepare delicious intricate meals. The collection of reading materials covers all appetites and there are brochures and maps of all the surrounding attractions.

We spent a lot of time in the screened in porch reading, playing cribbage and visiting. It really adds to the 'living' space of the cottage.

My husband was hesitant about the out-door shower and our 28 year-old daughter who came for a visit even more so. They both loved it though the weather did turn to the cooler side during our stay.

We flew up from Texas and the linen thing was tricky especially with American charging for extra bags and their serious weight restrictions. A trip to Wal-Mart might have been a wiser choice rather than stuffing towels and sheets in a carry-on.

The customer service from Anne was great. Our deposit was returned in a very timely manner.

We liked the pizza/sub store just several blocks from the house on Hwy. 156 and The Old Lyme Tavern/Sports Bar had delicious food including 1 1/2 pound lobsters for $15.00. One Monday evening we watched a play-off baseball game, NFL football and Dancing with the Stars on 3 big screen TV's mounted in a row. What fun.

Be aware - until about a week after Labor Day two of the three roads into the association have their gates locked - this includes the road the cabin is on. One must enter two streets down/over and then once inside some of the side streets are one-way. Had it been night we might not have found the cabin until the next morning. Just kidding.

All in all the pricing was extremely competivie, amenities great, landlord extremely helpful. A great stay.
