The house is a modern 1,500 Sqft (open floorplan) on a private (2 Acre) Estate with a garden trail to beautiful (swimming) beaches right out the back door! The wrap-around porch provides a shaded hammock, and the (2) sundecks and garden areas provide roaming space right on the estate. We have all modern amenities that make you feel right at home (Flat screen TV, CD & DVD, Satellite Radio, & Wi-Fi Internet The estate is located near: the Capital 'Clarence Town' Church & Marina, Deans Blue Hole (deepest in the world), & other beautiful and secluded beaches. Nearby are many stores, restaurants, & businesses. The mailboat/ferry provides overnight service to Nassau, and many locals provide other recreational services like: Sailing, Boating, Fishing (of many types), sea kayaking, Jet-skiing, snorkeling, scuba, cycling, beach combing, or nothing at all................. Our most noted sights are Deans Blue Hole (deepest in the world) & Cape Santa Maria (voted 'on of the most beautiful beaches in the world') The island is over 70 miles long providing great cycling & sight seeing by car. The many long and secluded beaches provide, plenty of beach combing, sea kayaking, snorkeling, & local tours can provide, scuba, treasure hunting, fishing, (bone-fishing, deep-sea, and much more), feed the shark tours, & jet skiing. The scenic backdrop of the old churches and homes in the middle of a world renowned natural wonderland, provide the photographer with breathtaking opportunities of Oceanfronts, skies, Flowers, & Birds, The safety and natural beauty of the family island makes this a great destination for families, and the privacy is perfect for a honeymoon or writing a new book.

If coming from Florida you can fly a Private Charter directly to Long Island or take flights through Nassau. Many major Airlines (American, Delta, Continental etc.) fly directly to Nassau allowing you to skip Florida. Many will take advantage of flying through Nassau to spend a night or two in the big city, others choose to fly strait through or via Exuma. Charming and private house

I had a wonderful stay at Ocean Sound and I really appreciated the high quality of the house, its contents, and location. What a charming and romantic house, it is very impressive. It is clean, comfortable, cosy, quiet, and very well equipped. The grounds and garden are beautiful, while the proximity to the water is really agreable. In one word It’s paradise!

The best advantage of this house is that it is completely private... with easy access to private and deserted beaches and one of the most amazing views of the ocean! Imagine having your breakfeast on the quiet patio, listening to the ocean and birds chirping in the charming garden with a perfect view of turquoise waters! The outdoor shower is nice after coming back from the beach…..

I also enjoyed the nice breez during the warmer days, the sound of the surf at night with the millions of stars in the dark sky... What a relaxing and perfect time! On Long Island and close to the house, there are lots of amazing sandy beaches, great for snorkelling, strolling and shelling… and there’s hardly anyone else around! People on the island are very friendly and accomodating. Simply, the Long Island experience is the real island living!

Take a walk on the empty beach, swim in the baby blue ocean, discovery the magnificient Deep Blue Hole, have a conch salad in a local restaurant, take a drink with the local people or just relax with a good book on a long chair.

By the way, for more practical questions, I really appreciated the availability, helpfulness and advices of the care-taker. I also appreciated having the internet, quite a luxury for the out island experience. I will note : renting a car during my trip was good, as it was essential for discovery of more of the island and grocery shopping.

Amazing location, perfect Vacation!

I recently returned from my trip in Long Island, Bahamas. I stayed at this property and it was perfect. The beach is amazing and one of the best I have ever seen. It was secluded and I did not see another person on the beach the entire week that I was there. The breeze from the ocean is wonderful, keeping it cool all day and night long. The house was great. It has 2 nice bedrooms and is fully-furnished. The house has modern couches (2 inside and one outside on the porch), dining table for 4, full kitchen and amenities, W/D, a hammock and much more. I could even use my laptop as there is WI-FI as well as satellite radio and a flat screen TV.
This is definitely the place to go to get away from it all and enjoy the beach, but there is also a lot to do if you are interested. Dean's blue hole is only miles away, one of the deepest blue holes in the world. You can go snorkeling, diving, boating, fishing, swimming or just hang out on the beach.
This place would be perfect for honeymooners or families at is romantic, beautiful, secluded and modern.
The property was clean and well-maintained. The owner was friendly and provided great service. It was easy to go online and reserve the vacation. Everything was taken care of easily and efficiently.
I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a get away vacation who loves the beach!
