Photos and Description of the Los Gigantes vacation apartment rental 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, double sofabed sleeps 6

The apartment has two bedrooms (one with king size bed, one with two single beds) and two bathrooms (one ensuite). The double sofa bed in the lounge brings the capacity to six. From the master bedroom you can step through the Georgian style glass door to balcony for a breath of fresh morning sea air. The kitchen is fully fitted plus washing machine and microwave and the kitchen equipment even includes a fruit juicer! The apartment does have air conditioning but as patio doors fill one wall of the lounge/dining room flooding the room with light and air, the owners have rarely had cause to use it. The elegant blonde wood dining table and chairs make for sophisticated dining inside or there is a table and chairs set on the wide balcony for more al fresco meals.

Los Gigantes: The quaint village of Los Gigantes snuggles in a peaceful, secluded valley. There is no through road, no rowdy hoards of youngsters out to get smashed, no endless machines blaring out their mindless racket day and night, no 'kiss me quick' hats - just friendly people enjoying a gentle pace of life in a glorious setting. This is one of the most tranquil and exclusive areas of the island of Tenerife. The village has been built around the traditional style plaza with the beautiful church at its heart. The church boasts an interesting selection of bronze sculptures with a dramatic painting over the altar. This plaza is the hub of the village. Take time out and enjoy a glass of local wine or a coffee and just watch the world go by. If you're lucky the local 'parakeetas' will put on an aerial display for you in one of the large leafy trees.

Tenerife: The island of Tenerife is one of incredible variety. It offers dramatic scenery with majestic Mount Teide presiding over the island in snow-capped glory. Then there are the remote mountain villages with a wonderful Alpine feel where dainty flowers carpet green meadows. Rugged ravines run down to the sea, a splendid testimony to the volcanic presence (thankfully not seen for some years). The coastline is skimmed with magnificent cliffs, such as seen in Los Gigantes and sandy beaches either clothed in the famous black sand or the, more common, golden variety.

Stunning Views: There are stunning views across the bay to the island of La Gomera, which rises majestically from the ocean. Take time out at sunset to just stand and stare at the spectacular free show as the sun plops into the sea coating the island and water in liquid gold. The magnificent Los Gigantes cliffs soar above the Northern side of the village helping create a sheltered year-round climate.

A nice apartment, good location

THis was a really nice place to stay for us: 2 adults, 1 child (aged 3). Los Gigantes is quiet, with not much nightlife (which suited us) but some nice places to eat. The apartment was nice: clean and spacious with everything we needed. It could do with some very minor things being fixed - e.g. 1 towel rail coming detached from the wall, but was lovely overall and good value for money. Watch out for the lift in the complex though - we got stuck in it! even though we reported it as broken nothing seemed to be done about either putting up a warning sign or getting it fixed.
Owner's Response: It's always nice to receive a good review! We mentioned the towel rail when we were at the apartment in March 2009 and Reception responded quickly and professionally as we have always found them to do. The lift is a bit of a mystery as Reception had no record of a problem but on the positive side it was working perfectly during our stay.
