Boat Rental:
We have 2 boats available for rental to qualified operators. Each boat trailer has a 2' ball and a flat 4 wire connector. We may can give instructions and set the boat in the water for you if prearranged.
One boat is a 1973, 17' long Starcraft cuddy cabin with a 135 HP Johnson outboard motor. This boat is inexpensive and is strongly recomended for inexperienced operators.
The second boat is a 2000, 21' Sea Fox with a 125 HP Evinrude outboard motor. This boat is expensive and will only be rented to experienced operators or after extensive training.
Rates are to be determined.
The 17' Grumman Canoe can be used at your descrition, but will require a car top carrier to move the 1 mile to the pier and earthen boat ramp in our subdivision. This canoe is rated for 4 persons. Life preservers, paddles and coolers are available.
The ocean kayak is not on site at this time, and is at our other mountain rental. We will acquire one by your rental dates if you desire.
Community pier and earthern boat ramp.
The subdivision has a small community pier on a deep water portion of Gray's Creek. This pier is about 1 mile from our home and can be accessed by foot, bicycle, or 4 wheel drive vehicle. The canoe and kayak can be set in here. The boats may be docked here for a period of time, but should not be left here during heavy rains.
There is a concrete boat launch 1 mile from our home on Marinia Road which may be used also. This is near the Rocky Bottom Resturant and Marina.
The nearest public boat launch is about 20 minutes away and is a very good launch with ample parking and is free. it is located on Highway 650 on State owned property. It is easy to get to. Just 3 turns through the rural county from our home.
Places we recommend you visit.
Of course, everyone should visit the Jamestown Resort, just across the ferry ride. You may feed the birds popcorn from the back of the ferry only. You will enjoy this.
