Although our home is 1/3 mile (short walk) to the Rio Del Mar beach, a 5 minute drive to Capitola Village, 10 minutes to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, and a 35 minute drive to Carmel & Monterrey..... you'll feel so comfortable right where your at because of the relaxing atmosphere which surrounds it. Discover the Northern California 'camp like' feel from the large, beautiful redwood/tempered glass deck that surrounds the home. BBQ, entertain, or play on the grass area in the large back yard. Walk the little shady pathway to the Aptos Creek which flows gently to the Rio Del Mar State beach. The home has been completely remodeled, however, much of it has been restored, to capture that special place in time. It has so much character and charm. This is a GREAT getaway for families or romantic retreats.

The dining area table seats 4, plus 3 additional barstools at the breakfast bar. There is also 2 additional high back chairs and small table in the living room area. Fireplace is unavailable for use in the summer (however, it is not needed for warmth). 42' flat screen TV in living room. Deck includes outdoor patio furniture: 2-seater padded couch, 2 wide padded chairs, 4 regular patio chairs. 1 round patio table, 2 end tables, a patio coffee table and 2 shade umbrellas.

Good place

The house was nice and clean. We had a little trouble with the tv but figured it out.The bedrooms are right next to eachother so no privacy. The deck and backyard were great. We saw a family of skunks. The walk to the beach is about ten minutes. Farther than i thought it would be. Overall we had a really good time.
Owner's Response: Our goal is to offer our Aptos Beach Bungalow as clean, comfortable and user friendly as we possibly can. The home is "within" a 10 minute walk to the ocean, shopping, dining, Santa Cruz style coffee shops and more. Yes, there may be an occasional wildlife sighting anywhere in Santa Cruz county. We know it's just not possible to make everything perfect for everybody all the time, but we will never stop trying. Best of luck with your vacation plans!

Charming and Well-equipped Bungalow

We stayed in this lovely bungalow for a week during June of 2009. We absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants a tastefully decorated, clean and well-equipped house to stay in, within walking distance of the beach. It's obvious that the owners take pride in their little abode--it has everything you could want or need for a beach stay: boogie boards, ice chest, beach umbrella, large BBQ on a spacious deck with lots of seating capacity overlooking a peaceful backyard and a house with every amenity. Comfortable and cozy

I would highly recommend this rental. The owner is extraordinarily helpful. The welcome letter provides all the information you need and the bungalow is comfortable, cozy, and spotlessly clean. Lots of amenities are provided - towels, beach chairs. The kitchen is terrific, great utensils. Plasma TV is huge. All in all a fabulous place. We were there for a working retreat in the rain. It would be spectacular in great weather, beach nearby, easy access to restaurants, stores, etc.

Awesome Place - Perfect Location

My family of five had an awesome time at your bungalow by the beach! Everything is new (appliances, TV, etc.) and is very clean with nice touches all around. The track lights really add to the ambiance inside.

If you have children, this is the perfect place to stay! Even if you don't have children, this is the perfect place to stay, but the dual bunk beds are just the thing when you have three children like we do.

The deck outside, which overlooks a small forest and creek, was a great place for my wife and I to relax and have a glass of wine at the end of the day while the children slept.

One of the best things about the bungalow is its location. You are a five minute walk from the Rio Del Mar beach and just a short drive from Santa Cruz, Capitola, and one of our favorite out of the way beaches -- Zmudowski State Beach near Moss Landing.

We'll definitely be staying there again, and we highly recommend it to everyone!
