New home. 1-story with fantastic deck overlooking the Pedernales River valley (2 miles from the confluence of the Colorado and Lake Travis) -only 30 miles or 35 minutes from downtown Austin. Cathedral ceilings in the great room, open kitchen with 2 sinks and huge granite island, stainless steel appliances. All glass on back of house. 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths. Waterfront with clear blue water and boat dock with slip. Huge old Oak trees shade the 1,200 foot deck that has an outdoor dining and living area. Large front yard, completely fenced for kids. You can bring your boat or jet ski's and launch 30 minutes from our house at Granite Beach (in Horseshoe Bay). Or, you can rent a boat there.

This is the neck of the woods where Willie Nelson has a home, so does the Director Robert Rodriguez, and one of the Dixie Chicks. In the heart of the Texas Hill Country - you'll find old oak trees, country lanes, rolling blue hills, lakes, BBQ joints and honky tonks (Willie Nelson's road manager owns Poodie's Bar up the street - known for great live music and the best hamburgers around... if you can stand the smoke!). Highway 71 is the main route here - we are located a few miles from the Barton Creek Country Club and 15 miles from several golf courses. It's quiet out here - all you hear is an occasional boat and birds. There are several fabulous restaurants out here in the country that welcome families and kids. Plus, there are two wonderful wineries within 5 miles. And the new Galleria Outdoor shopping mall is complete.. It's only 10 minutes up the road and has a cinema, cafes, all kinds of shops and restaurants ( in the summer there's always outdoor live music concert

Notes: We do not allow motorcycles. We have a 1200 foot, beautiful deck. It has huge shade trees covering most of it. We have an outdoor dining table and a lovely wicker outside living set (couch, chairs, table).

Lake Lovers Read This!: We are right on the water. We are on a very deep side of the river and all the skiers like to ski in front of our dock due to the smooth water here. This is such a great home to have fun and enjoy the family. If you bring jet ski's or a boat and you can launch it in our neighborhood launch and boat all over Lake Travis. Or, you can go to Granite Beach Shores - on Lake LBJ 30 minutes from our house. We love to have picnics down on the dock and have a glass of wine or a frosty beer at sunset. It's extremely peaceful and beautiful. The water is lovely and clear (unless there's been a storm).

Golf: Many golf lovers in the area head to Marble Falls (15 miles from here) to the Hidden Falls golf course. There's also the Legends at Lake LBJ or Delaware Springs Golf Course in Burnet.

The perfect getaway spot!

Nine college friends got together in this terrific home for a college reunion. We could not have chosen a more suitable spot for a relaxing four days of fun, great food, long walks, and reminiscing about college.
The house and environs are in perfect shape! Every detail was taken care of and it's clear the owners take great pride in providing a spotless, modern, and welcoming home. We felt comfortable from the second we opened the front door until we regretfully said farewell to Spicewood.
Very accessible from Austin's Bergstrom airport and just 30 minutes from the nightlife in downtown Austin (Sixth St). Great local nightspots near the home...check out Poodie's for an authentic Texas roadhouse.
Highly recommended!

The Most Amazing House!!!!

Every single thing about this estate is absolutely perfect!! The setting was incredibly private, which is something that you don't find much in such an area. The house has one of the last large lots on a small lane, and I am happy to say that we heard not one noise the entire time we were there--PERFECT!!
One of my favorite features had to be the deck. First thing's first: the deck is HUGE! It has two different areas for sitting (table and chairs, along with a couch/umberella set), and a gas grill that we used to cook some amazing seafood from the local fish market. Also, it was built AROUND the coolest trees I have ever seen (I'm from PA), which were beautiful to look at through the massive windows from every back room in the house. You'll know what I mean when you wake-up in the master bedroom to a consistently gorgeous view!
EVERYTHING we needed was found easily, right down to papertowels and bug spray. It was so nice to be able to leave all worries behind and just enjoy such a beautiful place. Did I mention that each of the 3 showers in the house are huge!? I can't express how cool that was!
We stayed here for four nights, and it took everything we had to turn the key back in. I'll never forget the amazing stairs in the "bluffs" which lead you down to the dock. Luckily, it was just warm enough for us to jump in the river (early April)! The entire grounds area is truly magical--I have about a hundred pictures to prove it.
It was tough to pick-out a rental in this area, but I can say without a doubt that we chose the best one. When we weren't hanging-out at the local eateries (Angel's, Poodie's, Opie's--all fantastic), we didn't want to leave the house!
With Desiree and the house manager, Diana, organizing every detail, we were able to have the vacation we had hoped for and more. Surprise--we're already looking into booking it again!!
