Cozy Carriage House by Acadia Nat'l Park

Centrally located to all the area's attractions.
Country living and 45 minutes to Acadia National Park by car. Bird's eye view of Bald Eagles, bay and lobster boats from your window
Toured Bar Harbor, Acadia Nat'l Park, Whale watching, Schoodic Bay, numerous fishing villages such as Winter Harbor, seals
Real fishing villages abound--not the tourist trap feeling you get in other so-called "quaint" fishing villages. This area is surrounded by real lobster/fishing villages
Carriage house was immaculate! Used the Canoe and kyaks on the property--they were a blast!
View from the Carriage house was absolutely beautiful--as a amateur photographer, I could not get enough of this area
People that work and live in this area of Maine--wonderful people!!! Every where we went in this area, people were more than helpful and very nice. As a Georgia native, I can say folks in the South could learn a few hospitality skills from our Maine cousins. I can't say enough about how nice people are in this area.
The owners--Mark and Bonnie were wonderful hosts. They were very concientious that every detail was taken care of prior to our arrival. They were also proactive in making sure that our needs were met without us having to approach them. Reality was they had already taken care of everything and then some, but they still checked occassionally via telephone to make sure everything was going well at the house.
Mark (Owner) works for Acadia National Park. He and Bonnie provided maps/info about the park with personal notes about each site. They also provided insider info on local attactions such as Bar Harbor.
Attention to detail was evident everywhere. The Carriage House was very well appointed. Cookware was top-notch, stove/over were top-notch, grill was new and gas tank was full. With the cookware at hand, no reason a fine gourmet meal cannot be prepared right there in the Carriage House
A lobster pot and cooker is also available. Recommend getting lobster from one of the local lobster fishermen and saving yourself some money. Plus you are getting the freshest lobster possible. Mark and Bonnie can point you in the right direction.
Recommended Chester Pike's for their Friday night Fish -n- Chips which is located about half way between Ellsworth and Gouldsborough. Recommend Reservation
Can't wait to go back! One week was not enough!
