Awesome Vacation!!

This house is wonderful! My husband and I went with three other couples and 3 teenagers for several days and we didn't want to leave. The layout is almost like two separate homes - one upstairs and one downstairs - with a kitchenette down. We hung out mostly in the huge main floor great room/kitchen area with a glass wall overlooking the backyard, firepit and lake in the background. It's far enough away so you don't hear lots of boat noise but close enough to walk right down and sit in the porch swing on the dock and soak in the peace! I personally liked crashing on the huge back deck in a lounge chair with a book. The game room with ping pong and pool kept the kids busy when they weren't swimming, fishing, paddle boating or tubing with a friend who brought his boat up.
It's very private from the road with a couple of small lake houses nearby. The space for the money is well worth it!
We ate out once at a fun place called Swamp Guinea - big tables where you pass the food and eat til you're stuffed. Mostly we stayed in and cooked easy meals and relaxed.
The guys played golf at a couple of courses nearby - Cateechee and Hartwell Golf Club. They liked Cateechee best.
A surprise - this place had VERY nice furniture which we didn't expect for a vacation rental - and a large fenced-in yard.
Only problem - at times I had to walk out on the deck to get a full cell signal with my AT&T phone. There is a house phone though and wireless internet so not a big deal to communicate if you have to. Otherwise, turn them all off, relax and have fun.
The owners were helpful and wanted to make sure we had a great time. No problems.
We would recommend this place to anyone and plan to go back whenever we have a chance.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the input and we're glad you had such a great time! The cell phone issue has been addressed, however the house is in such a remote area that you might still have problems. For some reason the best place to get reception is in the kitchen or out on the driveway! :-)
Hope you get to come back!
