It is a simple cabin that I have refinished over the years. I think you will find it a comfortable accommodation. There is a fully equipped kitchen, which includes coffee, tea and spices. A fine breakfast or a cozy dinner can be prepared at your leisure while enjoying the peaceful setting. Perfect for couples and families with small children.

Linens are provided for your convenience as is a washer and dryer. A barbecue and briquettes along with outdoor furniture invites you to dine al fresco and relax in the gazebo or contemplate the world on the back porch. An old-fashioned clawfoot tub beckons you to relax after a long day of activities. We offer a stereo and video system, so bring your favorite music and a good book, or some special videos.

Nestled in the foothills along West Weaver Creek, with a fine view of densely forested Timber Ridge. Your day trips may include hikes on the extensive community trail system or forays into the Trinity Alps, biking, fishing the lakes and streams, boating, whitewater rafting and leisurely drives through the countryside. Visit the old towns, the Joss House Chinese Temple, Historical Society Museum, art galleries and some specialty stores. And when you want to treat yourself, our local restaurants offer a variety of delicious meals.

At the end of the day, the best thing about staying at Aven Estate is being at Aven Estate. If the mornings are the most beautiful time of day, the evenings are the most peaceful. As the twilight deepens, the night sky blazes with the heavenly hosts, the Milky Way and the Moon. At any time of the day, you will find that Aven Estate is truly a place apart.

Home Away From Home

The Aven Estate is a quiet, cozy, comfortable retreat from the urban world. There's lots of privacy, we never closed the shades, which allowed us to watch the antics of the quail, the woodpecker, the squirrels, as well as the deer across the road. Hiking opportunities abound-we recommend the Canyon Creek Trail, which we traversed many times. For dinner, we recommend LaGrange in town. The town is an easy half-mile walk away. A well-equipped kitchen (Cuisinart pans!) makes eating-in an easy option. The comfortable bed makes sleeping-in a great option! We were so at home that we did not want to leave.

Great Family Rendezvous

This cabin's location is midway between my two children's college campuses, which makes it a perfect rendezvous location for long weekends. This was our first visit and I was impressed with the cabin and the property overall. Clean, comfortable, very cozy and well equiped with everything! Beautiful private setting. We will definitely be going back. Thanks James!

The Perfect Relaxing Retreat

This was a much overdue getaway for my hubby, doggies and myself. We are also owners of three VRBO properties in the Lassen area which keep us busy year round. This is so perfect for us to zip over to Weaverville, just under 2 hours from our home base in Viola. The cottage is so inviting and comfortable. When we travel, we travel with our 3 small, well behaved furry friends. James has made it very easy for us to feel right at home. We most enjoyed taking a nap on the lawn in the back yard, so quiet and peaceful. This was our second visit to the property, I commented to my hubby, I think we have found a home away from home. The kitchen is well equipped with everything we needed, thanks for the peanut butter & jelly & good selection of tea. There is a great selection of music and movies so no reason to go far from this lovely cabin. We had a nice meal at the golf course Steak House, reasonable prices and very good food and service. We will be back again next year. Thanks so much.

R HOME IN THE MOUNTAINS....

I am always so happy to visit my home in the mountains. My husband I visit once or twice a year. This charming cabin is surrounded by lovely lawn & gardens which beckon butterflies and quail. The night time is my favorite with the wonderful sound of crickets and a fluffy bed surrounded by windows perfect for stargazing. Always clean and welcoming and so private and safe behind a locked gate, Thank You, James for always making our stay memorable.

My husband and I spent 5 days in this charming cabin. There was no need for us to bring anything but our clothes and toothbrush. It was clean, comfortable, and just remote enough to feel you were away from it all. Weaverville, just a short drive away had restaurants, groceries, historical sites and charm. Don't hesitate to consider this as a wonderful get away.
