Kanai A Nalu has been rated The Best Vacation Property in Ma'alaea. Spectacular ocean vistas are guaranteed in this specially designed condominium building. Our CORNER UNIT #417 faces the ocean and has a lanai featuring uninterrupted views of Ma'alaea Bay, Kihei, Wailea, Makena, Upcountry and Haleakala. Spectacular whale watching from the lanai during whale season. Plus, you can watch the sun come up over Haleakala (Maui's dormant volcano, which rises 10,000 feet above sea level.

Our building is very CENTRALLY LOCATED on Maui. It's approximately 1/2 mile from the Aquarium, the harbor, grocery store, restaurants and shops. Our condo is on a dead-end street so there is very little traffic and it is very QUIET. There is absolutely no traffic noise from the main road in our unit. You can enjoy deep relaxation inside or on the lanai, at the sandy beach or at the beautifully manicured lawn with tropical landscaping downstairs.

When you first enter, you will be greeted with the magnificent view of the ocean beyond the living room. Not many condos are available this close to a sandy beach, where you can swim or snorkel....RIGHT IN FRONT of the building (weather and ocean conditions permitting). In the morning, you can take a walk along the quiet sandy beach (miles long toward Kihei). This is possibly the most uncrowded beach on Maui. There is also a government protected Wildlife area near the beach for endangered sea turtles, so no development is allowed here. This is for sure one of Maui's finest beaches!

*Our penthouse unit #417 has a new California King Tempurpedic bed in the Master bedroom and now has a King bed in the second bedroom also. Condo sleeps 4 maximum.

5 miles of uncrowded beach, whale watching in Maalaea Bay which is the Humpback Whale calving and breeding grounds during the winter months (November through April) right in front of the property! Ocean swimming, boogie boarding and surfing (during south swells), and windsurfing! The Pacific Whale foundation is a 10 minute walk from the property so you can walk to your whale watch tour, or take educational classes without a car! Their is a charming local store called 'Tradewinds' 5 minutes by foot, for local meat, fruits and vegetables, liquor. Their fruit cup is a must!

GREAT CONDO AND CENTRAL LOCATION

This condo is fantastic. Spacious and in a great location. The views are stunning - of Haleakala, Molikini and Maalaea Harbour plus the vast ocean of course. The condo is literally right on the sandy beach and stretches for 3 miles to the east - great for morning and afternoon strolls. The waves can come up here if you want to surf and it can also be pretty calm at times if you want to swim or snorkel. It's nice and quiet here and the beach is almost like a private beach. It's only 10 minutes to Kihei, 15 minutes to Wailea and 20 minutes to Lahaina and then Kaanapali if you want some busier resorts. Just a heads up though, it is the windiest part of the island. We liked that as it stopped us getting too hot, but it would have been good to have been prepared for the wind! The pool is great - good temperature and about a third of the pool is only 3ft deep, so great for young kids. If you stay here and visit other beaches, take your snorkelling gear with you each time. So many of the beaches have fantastic snorkelling. Also, if you're a lap swimmer, all the public lap pools on the island are free!!!!

This unit is located on a quiet beachfront near Ma'alaea Harbor where the only thing that will keep you awake is the sound of the surf. There is lots to do in the area that is well within walking distance.Many really good places to eat and the Maui Ocean Center near by. The condo is well equipped and very cozy. Great for 2 couples traveling together, or even small family groups. There are 2 rooms with king beds & their own bathrooms, a nice living room area, kitchen, laundry and an awesome lanai to sit and watch for turtles and whales. there is also an elevator, pool, BBQ area, parking and the beach is PERFECT!

RELAXING, WELL APPOINTED AND CONVENIENT

My husband and I stayed for 11 days in March 2014 and really appreciated the location, the lack of noise and the magnificent views. The condo had comfortable furniture and just the right kitchen equipment, and with the breezes normal for Maalaea we never needed more than the ceiling fans. Steps down from the property led to a great daily walk along Sugar Beach and there were good restaurants in Maalaea and Kihei - so no long drives out to dinner. The Maalaea Harbor was within walking distance and that is where the Molokini snorkeling trips with Pacific Whale Foundation originate. We loved being able to use the beach chairs, cooler and snorkel equipment and I cannot think of any negatives to report; we will be returning soon.

OUR STAY AT THE CONDO

First I would like to rate the people that took care of our rental at 5 stars. The location was great for us, basically a the center of the island. We were at the corner on the 4th floor with ocean view, The sound of the waves and the magnificient view were amazing. Basically no sound from the neighbors, a very quiet family place. Cooking on the BBQ was great.
Rants are very few and negligable, smelly nearby powerplant and ever present winds (good BTW to keep us cool at night, no need for the AC). The japanese doors to the main room were loose and off their tracks but I fixed them lol.

All in all a worderful stay, thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay here! The condo was perfect for our family and we really appreciated all the extras, like the beach chairs, toys, the pack n play, and high chair for our little one. We made our friends and family back home very envious when we sent photos of the view. We loved relaxing on the lanai and watching the surfers.
