Perfect Vacation Retreat

Simply put, this unit is about as perfect as it gets. It was clean, well maintained and the furnishings are first rate, not someone's old cast offs. The entire property is well kept with a pool, gas grills, workout room and lending library. The unit's patio area is spacious with a great view of sunsets over the gulf. Great local restaurants (Backwaters, Maggie Mae's and Columbia)as well as a small grocery store are literally within walking distance. Kitchen is great with granite countertops and modern appliances. We enjoyed many "home cooked" meals while there. The owner was responsive to all our questions and contacted me after our stay to make sure everything went well. The property manager was competent and not intrusive. Security personnel at the gate were friendly and made us feel safe. The rate for the unit includes phone service with unlimited domestic long distance, a nice touch. The TV in the living room is a large flat screen with adequate cable channels. The DVD player came in handy when we felt like staying in and watching rented movies. The unit is located on the 3rd floor (really the 2nd if you dont count the parking gargage) with easy to access by stairs if the elevator has trouble, which it did a few days we were there. Not a big deal, but it would have been had we had a unit on the 20th floor! The unit has a 2 week minimum rental which may be too long for some folks. This is not the fault of the owner but rather I suspect a condominium owners association rule. However, 2 weeks here is still cheaper than renting 2 rooms for 1 week at the Marriot down the street. We spent a few days in Orlando during our stay and still came out ahead. All in all a very relaxing place to vacation. We have already recommended this unit to some friends and intend to contact Alan about a trip next year! Blake
