Step back into yesteryear, but with all the modern conveniences of today in this quaint lob cabin nestled amid the Nantahala National Forest. This cabin is so cute you won't ever want to leave! The back yard is totally private with a pond and soothing waterfall to rest and unwind with. It is conveniently located right in the middle of Cashiers and Highlands Shop till you drop for anything you could imagine, and dine with the best! Or stay back at the cabin and cook in your fully equipped modernized kitchen after a day of hiking or visiting waterfalls. There are two bedrooms (both upstairs). The master bedroom has a wonderful king size bed and the second bedroom has an equally comfy queen size bed. (We are fanatics when it comes to sleeping well on vacation! Comfort is very important to us, as well as the comfort of our guests!) There is a brand new Lane double reclining sofa and matching 'bubba' recliner in the living room for a total meltdown after your busy day.

Our cabin is located right in between Cashiers and Highlands, in the middle of the Nantahala National Forest. Waterfalls and rapids are within minutes. The hiking is spectacular! Whether you are shopping or dining in Highlands, whitewater rafting, horsebackriding, hiking or boating on nearby Lake Glenville, the ultimate peace and quiet of the private cabin welcomes you home to relax and unwind like you've never experienced before! Relax by the firepit!: Be sure to pack marshmallows to enjoy in the evening by the firepit! You can also eat dinner out on the covered back porch. Both porches are covered....the front porch has a porch swing and rockers, and the back porch has big old comfy chairs and a dining set. There is also a hammock in the totally private back yard, along with Adirondack chairs. So, pick your spot and settle in! If you are a nature lover or a hiker, you will absolutely love it here. We are less than two miles from the trail head of the Ellicott Rock Wilderness Area of the Nantahala National Forest and a short hike from the Chattooga River, made famous in the movie 'Deliverance'. The cabin is also a short distance from Franklin, Bryson City and Cherokee. And you're about an hour from Asheville. What are you waiting for! I promise you'll love it and come back again and again!

Area Description: This area of Western North Carolina is truly breathtakingly beautiful. From the many, many waterfalls, overlooks, rivers and streams, the area is one of the most popular around. There is so much to do and see. Lake Glenville has all kinds of boats to rent and watersports to partake in.....there is watertubing in Sapphire in the summer, and skiing in the winter. Horseback riding, hiking, fishing, rafting, great restaurants, golf, and unbelievable shopping! Whew! I'm sure I've missed something!

Cleaning fees: If you are staying 3 nights or more, there is no cleaning fee. If you are staying 2 nights, there is a $50 cleaning fee, or you may choose to clean it yourself.

This cabin is adorable; it has a nice homey feel to it. It's a very nice place to relax when you're needing it. My boyfriend and I stayed for two nights and we were not ready to leave. Both the fireplace inside and the fire outside were warm and beautiful. The view of the forest is really pretty (we went during the fall so it was especially nice to see all the colors changing). This was a nice get away, I recommend it, and I plan on returning myself.

If your wondering the cabin is as advertised ... photo's are great on their site ... we didn't have a ton of time to kick back and relax due to a wedding in Highlands but were able to hike on Sunday ... the area is a great base for many different hikes if your into that type of thing ... the cabin was so quiet ... we loved listening to the rain from the porch ... the beds were wonderful ... stairs are fine once you use them a few times ... and of course the dishwasher was a great surprise ... MJ and Scott were wonderful to work with ... deposit was returned with out delay ... the folks that live on the road were great ... not that we saw but two cars the whole time we were there ... so take a week or weekend and relax ... thanks for the great stay ... Barbar and Paul ...

Family Vacation to Mountains

Spent 4 nights in the cabin with my family of 4. What a great family vacation! We used the cabin as our base while we hiked and visited waterfalls in the area. We returned to the cabin each evening and spent quality family time together. I would highly recommend the cabin to couples and families (younger kids should be weary of the stairs). It is secluded, well-equipped, and cozy. The owner was great to work with. You will defnitely enjoy your time spend in this cabin!

Charming Cabin in Cashiers, NC

My family and I spent a wonderful and relaxing week in Cashiers, NC at MJ and Scott's cabin. The cabin is well equipped with games and movies which was great for our kids. The furniture both inside and outside is very comfortable and the rooms are very well laid out. Meals were very easy to prepare as the kitchen is well stocked with everything you would need to cook. There also is a grill on the front porch. The cabin is well cared for and very clean. MJ and Scott are excellent communicators and a pleasure to work with. The cabin is located approximately halfway between Cashiers and Highlands. Both towns are charming and great places to explore. There are also many trails nearby if hiking is of interest. There is plenty of good shopping and restaurants in both towns. The Cornucopia in Cashiers is excellent. I would highly recommend MJ and Scott's cabin to couples or families who are interested in exploring Wester North Carolina. Thank you MJ and Scott.

Great getaway

My husband and I recently spent 4 nights in this cabin. It was just right for us. We especially enjoyed the comfortable front porch, from which we could simply stare into the woods and listen to the sounds of nature. We loved the seclusion of the cabin. It really made us feel we were away from it all.
