East Alton and Wolfeboro are lovely historic quaint New England communities located at the eastern end of Lake Winnipesaukee providing astounding summertime activities including a power boating, sailing, snorkeling/diving, tubing, hiking, water skiing, swimming, fishing, horseback riding, biking, motorcycle touring, flying, touring and many others. The area also has lots of craft shows, antique fairs, summer stock theater and country fairs throughout the summer. It is a 5 minute ride (by car or boat) to Wolfeboro Center for shopping, a 25 minute ride to Laconia for water parks and other children activities, and a 45 minute ride to Meredith. You can take the Mount Washington Cruise Boat from Wolfeboro Bay to any other part of the lake (Center Harbor, Laconia, Alton, Meredith) or relax in a canoe or kayak and listen to the loons as the stars show themselves after a spectacular sunset. You should provide your own linens for beds and towels. Kitchen is well equipped with dishes, cooking utensils, glasses, and containers.

Boating: For our Boaters... NH requires all drivers of boats and water vehicles to have a license. Irwin Marine (Hillcrest) located about 5 minutes away in East Alton and Parker Marine located at the tip of Alton Bay (about 10 Minutes away) have boats for rent. Gillan Marine is about 12 minutes away and also offers boat rentals. There are over 200 islands on Lake Winnipesaukee, some private and some open to the public.

Ski: There is Gunstock Mountain 20 minutes away where you can downhill ski and snow tube. There are 220 acres of skiing, overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee and the White Mountains. Many other ski mountains are within a 45 minute drive including Wild Cat, Attitash, and North Conway. Right on the lake you can snow mobile, ice skate, and ice fish. Nearby trails offer snow mobile or cross country ski options. In Wolfeboro, about 15 minutes away, is Nordic Skier Sports where you can purchase your cross country ski passes and rental skis for you to explore Wolfeboro's cross country trails. They have 30km of skate groomed and track set trails between the two areas. There is also 15K+ of un-groomed back country skiing throughout the Wolfeboro area making a total of 45k+ km. You can also rent snow shoes and ice skates from Nordic Skier Sports. Bolduc Park about 30 minutes away, is another cross country facility located in Gilford.

Golf: Lake Winnipesaukee Golf Club, LLC New Durham NH 03855 is an Exclusive private golf club named one of the top ten new private courses in America by Golf Digest. Full service clubhouse, golf shop and practice facilities. Limited memberships and outings available. Kingswood Golf Club, Inc. Wolfeboro NH 03894 is a 19 hole championship semi-private golf club open to the public. Call for tee times. Restaurant, driving range, practice area, fully stocked pro-shop. Dan Botelho, PGA Lessons. Ridgewood Country Club Moultonboro, NH 03254 is a semiprivate course located in the heart of the Lakes Region. Peaceful, Gorgeous, Sparkling Clean, Endless Views

I stayed here over a long Labor Day weekend with my parents, aunt, husband and kids. This was an EXCELLENT place to stay. It is a large, modern home with a plentiful, interesting yard on a quiet cul-de-sac overlooking the beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee. We played basketball in the driveway, frisbee golf around the grounds, went kayaking in the boats provided by the landlord, swimming in the lake, and parked our boat right in front of the house at the dock provided. We spent endless hours on the expansive decks viewing the lake, sipping wine, eating, reading books, etc.The beds were very comfortable, the computer provided by the landlord was speedy, cable TV was great, and the kitchen was well-stocked. The location is really ideal as well. I went for long runs right from the house. Wolfeboro, and Alton where there is a large Hannaford's grocery store, were minutes away. There was a Catholic church five minutes away as well where we attended Mass. Dave DeJager (the landlord) is one of the nicest people I have ever met, knows almost everyone in Wolfeboro, made himself available when we needed him, and could answer just about any question we had. I highly recommend this rental!!

Excellent!!! Beautiful home and location!

This was a great home for my family and some friends of ours. There was more than enough room as the children had their own playroom. And the 4x bedrooms along with the finished lower level (basically an apartment) allowed all of us to have a comfortable bed. The view is breathtaking - as cold as it was up there this time of year you couldn't help but sit out on the deck and enjoy the NH air. The owner was very available throughout the process of renting and there were no problems whatsoever. I reccomment this to anybody, large party or small.

Wonderful Vacation Home for Family Getaways

Our extended family has grown to a point that makes holiday get togethers challenging (space-wise). As such, we searched for a home to rent for the week of Thanksgiving. The idea was to find a place with plenty of living space, plenty of seating and nice views. We couldn't believe our find in this property!

There were 6 adults and 5 children that stayed in the home throughout the week. The home could have accommodated more. There was plenty of comfortable and private sleeping space for everyone, children included. Not a bad or lumpy mattress in the whole house! We also found that the overall living space was sizable, comfortable and inviting. We spent a lot of time around the fireplace, in the large kitchen and outside. Even the deck got great use with morning and afternoon cups of coffee taken on the swings and Adirondack chairs. Amazing!

The photos do not do this home or property justice. The view from their deck is the best I have ever seen of the lake. The interior of the home is charming and invites you to relax - something that is hard to tell from photos. The owners were outstanding to deal with, providing all they said they would. They even secured extra tables, chairs and dishes for our holiday meal.

I would (and already have) recommend this home to friends and family for future rentals.
