The Villa:
Turtle House has been renovated and expanded, including all new tile floors, a completely new kitchen, a larger living/dining area and master bedroom. At nearly 1,200 SF, the villa is about 1/3 larger than the typical villa in the complex. The villa is fully air conditioned, although for much of the fall, winter and spring, the Abaco breezes are all you will need to be totally comfortable.
Turtle House is built on a double sized lot, providing significantly more privacy than most of the properties in the Beach Villas.
The Beach Villas is a waterfront community. Our villa is just a 2 minute walk to the beach and a heated pool. The shopping area and golf course are a 5 minute walk or golf cart ride.
Golf cart rentals are available on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, with rates in the range of $40 daily, $240 weekly and $750 monthly.
Auto rentals are also available if you want to explore beyond Treasure Cay with rates in the range of $80 per day plus fuel.
What To Do:
In Abaco, you can do nothing at all or fill every moment of your stay, or a little of both. The choice is yours. You can be totally sportif, with tennis courts and the 18 hole, par 72 golf course both just 5 minutes away. The full service marina, also within walking distance provides rental boats or guided snorkeling, diving and fishing adventures. There is ferry boat service to Green Turtle. Have lunch at the Green Turtle Club or explore the quaint village of New Plymouth. Perhaps you'll motor down to Marsh Harbor and take the ferry over to picturesque Hope Town, with its signature red and white striped historic light house. Or just maybe, you prefer to let the others do the touring while you relax at the spectacular, uncrowded 3.5 mile crescent shaped beach, strolling, collecting shells, watching the magnificent blue/green water change its hues. A good book, a cool drink, a little people watching - it's great to have choices. And they're all yours at Turtle House.
Getting Here:
Treausre Cay, located about 165 miles due east of West Palm Beach and Ft. Lauderdale, has its own airport, located just 10 minutes from Turtle House. There is daily scheduled service to Abaco via Continental Express Bahamas Air and American Eagle, leaving from West Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami and Nassau, with service to both Treasure Cay (TCB) and Marsh Harbor (MHH). Frequency of service varies by the season. Continental Express has the greatest number of flights but it often pays to check schedules and prices with all the airlines noted above. We can also recommend reliable air charter and air taxi services from Ft.Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. Good taxi service is available from both Treasure and Marsh Harbor airports to the villa and the fares per person and per bag are published. We are happy to recommend our regular driver and can include the round trip taxi fare in your rental fee if you find that convenient.
Golf:
Golf with no tee times! Just show up and play. The Treasure Cay Golf Course is located less than 5 minutes from our villa. It is a 6,985 yd., par 72, 18 hole course designed by the renowned Dick Wilson. It is, without doubt, the best bargain in island/resort golf, with greens fees in the $75 range, negotiable with the advance purchase of a multi-day pass. And if you've rented a golf cart for your stay, your welcomed to use it on the golf course as well. It doesn't get much better than that.
The course is mostly level and narrow and it's unforgiving if you don't stay in the fairways. Lost balls often stay lost. The greens are well maintained and roll straight and fair.
