Easy access to major attractions such as Schlitterbahn Water Park in New Braunfels (5 min drive); Sea World San Antonio, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, the Alamo, and the River Walk in San Antonio (20-30 min drives); and the Live Music Capital of the World, Austin (35 min drive). Within 1.1 miles walking (or rafting/tubing!) distance from Gruene Oaks Lodge, enjoy water activities, shopping, antiquing, dining, live music, dancing and Hill-Country-Style night life at Texas' oldest dance hall, Gruene Hall. With private access to the Guadalupe Riverfront, Gruene Oaks Lodge guests can float the river in rafts or inner tubes rented from any of the many local purveyors. Float for about an hour-and-a-half with this exclusive access, or enter the river further up-stream with the general public for a 4-8 hour float, depending on water flow levels.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Dates falling during Holidays and long weekends may require a minimum stay of 3 nights
  • In some circumstances, an additional refundable CASH deposit may be required in advance. Remaining balance due 1 calendar month before first night of scheduled occupancy. After the remaining balance has been charged, it is non-refundable, unless the vacation rental is subsequently rented by another party. Primary lease signer and payer must be 25 years of age or older, verified by photo I.D. and be an occupant at rental property during entire lease period.
  • $100 non-refundable down payment due at lease signing (will be applied to total rental amount)
    10% discount for 4+ nights, 21-night max, Some special dates may require a 3-night minimum stay
    10% tax consists of: 6% Hotel Tax + 4% Local WORD Tax
    Flat discount of $25 per lease if you choose to bring your own bed sheets and bath towels.

Perfect romantic retreat

We just spent the most romantic and refreshing weekend at this property. Very well maintained. It was just what the doctor ordered. I would recommend this property to anyone needing to recharge and reconnect. Will definetly stay here again. Thank you to the owners for sharing this most special place.

We stayed here and had a great time. We said we would like to return for another trip.
Unfortunately, after we checked out, they charged us to replace their sheets. they said there was a stain that they couldn't get out. when we left we took the sheets off the bed and there weren't any stains. We contacted the property manager and tried to resolve the situation. The sheets they were replacing were ruff and itchy. maybe 300 thread count. They charged us $50.00 bucks to replace what was maybe a $20.00 set of sheets (twin bed). i offered to purchase new ones and ship them to the property but they prefered to charge us the $50.00 stating that they had to find a certain thread count sheet. We were upset to find out that they wouldn't work with us to resolve the situation. This was a bogus charge and we wouldn't stay here again knowing how they treat you after check out.

Great Place & Location!

We stayed 3 nights in the cottage and really enjoyed it. It is decorated very nicely and everything was clean and new looking. The location is amazing. Right on the river and seriously about a 3 minute drive to downtown Gruene. We had a really fun time on the property relaxing in the river, BBQing, and just sitting on the deck enjoying the view. The only thing that I would say is a con is that there is no stove top, but not a big deal...we knew that before we came and just cooked everything on the grill. I will DEFINITELY stay there again, and would recommend it to a friend! Thanks Michelle for a great stay, and for your friendly correspondence.

Relaxing and scenic vacation

My fiance and I stayed at the cottage for 3 nights in May 2009 and had an amazing time! The cottage is very cute and well maintained. The masterbed is very comfortable. The best part is the view of the river and nature from the back porch and the private pier. This is a place we'll be coming back to!

Rally on the River - Relax at Gruene Oaks Lodge

FABULOUS is the best description for our stay at the Gruene Oaks Lodge! We had a wonderful 3 night stay! The cottage accomodations were very nice! My only wish was that the only bathroom was not in the master bedroom. The grounds are also beautiful and the place is extremely well maintained! We are already planning our next trip back!
