With your own private pool/spa, you may not want to venture out, but if you do, there are lots of nearby activities, tourist attractions, shopping (0.5mi), restaurants (0.5mi), golf courses, zoo (1mi), parks, etc.; and the Gulf of Mexico beaches are only a 5 minute drive. The Coastland Mall (1mi), exclusive shops of Olde Naples and Waterside (10 minutes), Miromar Outlet Mall (20mi), etc. offer a variety of shopping opportunities. If golf is your pleasure, you can try out a new course every day, with numerous public/private courses nearby. As well as the adults, the kids will love the beach, but also the zoo, miniature golf, water park and other recreational activities. Evening entertainment abounds with fine/casual dining, theaters, concerts, nightclubs, or just taking in the sunset while sipping on your favorite beverage and listening to local musicians. Notes: This private home was remodeled inside and out, and newly furnished (including all new appliances; furniture for great room, dining room, bedrooms; carpet, ceramic tile, kitchens cabinets, countertops, etc.); with the pool and paver patio being redone in 9/07. We tried to think of everything we could include (i.e., dishes, cooking utensils, linens, towels, etc.) to make your stay more comfortable. It's like home away from home, only better! By renting this reasonably-priced, fully equipped home, which is conveniently located to almost anything you would want to do; you can make this vacation very affordable by saving on housing (vs. a hotel room or other rental), food (by preparing some meals in your well-equipped kitchen/outdoor grill), clothing/laundry (by packing less and doing laundry on-site), and gasoline (because nearby attractions means less driving) making it a very economical getaway to a very prestigious location. Don't forget to take in a beautiful sunset!

Pros: House really well maintained, clean, well-equipped, good layout and convenient location to local amenities. Very spacious living room/dining room area. Master bedroom is on opposite side of the house from other two bedrooms, which is great with kids. Backyard was great - pool was nice and clean. Very clear and detailed instructions on how to work stuff in the house and yard. Owners were reliable, responsive and very helpful.
Cons: House is quite close to a main road and so traffic can get noisy, esp during rush hour.

Location, location, location

We found this home to be centrally located to many areas and attractions. It was very well maintained. Lawn and pool services were done weekly. Home cleaning was available if you wanted it (at your own expense). The layout of the house was very nice. The Master suite was on one side of the house with access to the lanai and pool area. The 2 other bedrooms were on the other side with a shared bath. Worked out great when the family joined us. The house is located minutes from Tin City, great fresh fish markets, Venetian Bay, numerous shopping malls, church, and not far to the beach. Great walking road next door at the golf course. We really enjoyed cooking most nights outside on the gas grill, sitting by the pool. Originally, I was somewhat intimidated with setting up the solar heat for the pool. However the instructions were very well writen and quite easy to follow. We have already rented this property for 2010.

Bigger than it looks

We (two people) stayed at this house in January 2009. The footprint seems small, but the rooms are very well laid out and there is a decent amount of room. The master suite is large and has a decent bathroom (shower only, no tub). The other bath does have a tub. The other two bedrooms are decent size. The kitchen is functional.
The pool area is very private with a grill and is screened in.
The pool/spa is nice and is heated (heat pump and solar heater), but it seems the max temperature you can get is around 82 for the spa; daytime air temp was around 75, but overnight it was in the 40-50 range, so that might have overwhelmed the system a bit. I assume when the sun gets warmer that you won't want the heater anyway.
The house is very close to the shops and beaches. It is also close to a major road, about 200 feet from the backyard, and there is some noise, mostly morning rush hour. Did not bother me, but due to the temps we had the sliders in the master closed, which helped.
Overall we liked this house and would recommend it for a small group, maybe six people total. The price is very competitive, and all the amenities are there.
The owners were honest and very responsive.
