Exceeded our wildest expectations
Our entire experience with Special Places of Guanacaste and at Villa Catalina 10 made for a perfect Costa Rican getaway. For once, the rooms and views and pool were actually better than what we saw in the pictures. If you're looking for a luxurious stay down the beaten path from where most tourists stay, this place is definitely for you. Playa Prieta is a short walk (or you can drive your car straight out on the beach) and the infinity pool is the perfect place to watch the sunset and have a barbecue.
Yes, the power went out a few times, and yes, the maid showed up once with the wrong key. But come on, it's Costa Rica! The power never stayed out long enough for any of us to mind, and after a quick call to Sharon at the office, the maid's problem with the key was fixed. And Becky was especially willing to go out of her way to help us during the booking process, answering the silliest of questions for us.
Quite simply, this place was amazing.
