A Week Away From It All

We just returned from one week on Harbour Island, staying with another couple at Chef Neff's "Hideaway." This is the perfect location on a perfect tropical island to escape reality for a few days. Harbour Island is a tranquil place away from hustle and bustle-- a kind of tropical parallel of Nantucket compared to the Cape Cod mainland. But it also offers excellent restaurants, a fantastic beach, uniformly friendly people, and unbelievably great weather (at least for a good part of the year). Chef Neff's property is an ideal match-up with these surroundings. The grounds are beautiful, the facility is very comfortable and well-maintained and the location is ideal: a short walk from one of the world's best (and most unspoiled and unpopulated!) beaches and a 10-minute golf cart ride to town. And the price is more reasonable than the fancy hotels now that they have been discovered by The Beautiful People.
One of the advantages of Chef Neff's hideaway is, in fact, Chef Neff herself. She is a gracious and attentive host who knows everything (and everyone) there is to know about the Island, and is more than willing to share recommendations on sightseeing, shopping-- and most especially, restaurants (she happens to be a Cordon Bleu professional chef in her spare time).
If you like glitz, casinos, late-night partying and tourist shops this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a great location in an idyllic part of the world, we heartily recommend Chef Neff's Suites. The photos shown on this web site are for real. In fact, it's even better to be there!
