Close by, La Manga has a large number of beaches totalling 40km .It offers both Mediterranean and Mar Menor seas which have very different water temperatures, salinity, one with waves and one practically calm all year round. If nightlife is what you are looking for it has this in abundance. Quietly situated a short distance away is Cabo de Palos with its fresh fish restaurants and popular Sunday morning market. In Los Belones village you will find the local Indian Restaurant, ice cream parlours, cafes, a fantastic Bodega (wine cellar) and more nightlife. Cartagena (one of the oldest cities in Spain) offers a cultural and historical reference point. There you will find a navel museum and the department store- El Corte Ingles as well as many other major stores. For those more sporting the Mar Menor offers International Sailing Clubs, scuba diving at Islas Hormigas
Golf & skiing:
If golfing is your sport then you can't get better than La Manga Club. Situated just 5 minutes drive away it offers 3 championship courses. It has also become a favourite for top European Premier League football teams to practise their training due to the exceptional climate. Recently La Manga Club was used for the filming of Superstars. For the more adventurous a two hour drive into the mountains their are some fabulous skiing resorts, but just remember to take your swim suits and snow suits!! Giving yourself a 2 in 1 holiday. You can look forward to five months of snow. Sierra Nevada has 61km of ski slopes with 45 pistes and 6 off-piste routes. There are 2 cable cars, 12 chair lifts and 5 ski lifts. The ski resort is open from 9am to 5pm although you can ski at night, weekends and bank holidays. Night skiing was introduced in 1994 with lighting along the El Rio slope (3km/545 vertical drop).

There are 26 golf courses along the coast with 'La Manga Club' just a 5mins drive away from the house. This club offers 3 championship courses. This is where all the European Premier League top football teams train and has very good sports facilities. It also offers lots of entertainment. Good night clubs and bars!! The immediate surrounding land is mainly flat, ideal for cycling (there are plenty of safe cycle track for you to follow) and walking and the property is within easy walking distance (5 minutes) of the sailing marina and sandy beach. On the beach there are lots of water activities: sailing, windsurfing, water/ jet skiing, pedalos and much more!! You can go to large rock climbing floats and trampolines in the water on La Manga beaches, (just 5 minutes away), great for the kids!
