The 'Shimmee Shack' is lovingly named for it's natural ability to gather family, friends and pets to celebrate life on the Edge of America. We are a privately owned residence and take pride in managing and maintaining the home ourselves. The comfort of our guests is our main proirity. Spend your 'daze' swimming, boating, fishing, surfing, kayaking, golfing, biking and shopping. Experience the locals, fresh seafood and a wide variety of foods from gourmet to local pub fare. After experiencing a full Folly day, as the sun is setting, relax into the island evening and it's natural settings on our screened in porch. Prepare your meal in the gourmet kitchen, or grill some fresh caught fish. When it's time to call it a day, take a soak in the jacuzzi tub and slip into the comfort of your own bedroom with private bath...life is good at the edge.

The Shimmee Shack is a fabulous place to relax and recharge. Great kitchen (no need to dine out), great beds (sleep as late as you want) and a HUGE and wonderful master bath. Spacious and comfortable.

We'll be back every year!

My family really enjoyed Folly Beach and staying in the Shimmee Shack for Spring Break 2009. We especially liked riding bikes around the island. Also, couldn't believe how close the dolphins came to the beach out at the lighthouse. Will be back soon.

What a comfy, cozy beach house! The Shimmee Shack just makes you feel right at home. Very clean and convenient to everything. Nice kitchen. Comfy beds. The screened porch rocks. Friendly neighbors too. What a unique and laid back beach vacation get away. Thanks, Shimmee Shack! My family loved your place, and shall always remember fondly our trip to Folly Beach. I hope to be able to return to both Folly Beach and The Shimmee Shack some day.

We had a blast at the shack! The house was beautiful on the inside. It's in a great location if you like to walk to the Folly strip for drinks and you can easily walk to the beach. It was very comfortable - cozy living spaces and a great kitchen. We had no problems at all. We had 4 adults (two couples) and one dog and we all had a blast. We'll definitely rent again next spring!
