A charming 18th century mini château built just prior to the French revolution and set in its own grounds of approx. 17 acres, with a heated swimming pool 10m by 4m and 1.6m deep (open from April to October), which has security fencing and covers for the protection of small children. In the grounds are two trout lakes with fly-fishing and an open fire/grill in the kitchen to cook your freshly caught dinner.

The adjacent St Sever forest has marked adventure trails and wild deer and boar roam the forest.

Ground Floor; large open plan sitting room(s) are arranged in two areas, one with an open stone fire, the other with oak panelled book cases and home entertainment centre with radio, TV, VCR and DVD as well as a free view box providing UK channels only. The dinning room will accommodate 10 people.

There is Wi-Fi internet access and a separate building housing a games room, with a pool table and table football.

Fly Fishing for Trout: The two small lakes on the property provide enjoyable facilities for the experienced and the novice fisherman. We recommend that children are accompanied by an adult when in the lake area. At the beginning of each season the lakes are stocked from a local trout farm. No swimming is permitted in the lakes.

There is a local tourist office in St Sever on these and other activities of interest in the area/region.

The village of St Sever has a good variety of local shops including a doctor (English speaking), pharmacy, dry-cleaners as well as the essential food and delicacies for which the region is famous. The St Sever forest is accessible directly from the grounds of the property, with its marketed nature trails and lake to explore on foot, bicycle or on horse-back.

Villedieu-les-Poeles is famous for its copper and brass ware and its bell foundry. Its history dates back to the Knights of St John from King Henry the 1st of England. The weekly Tuesday market is one of the best in the area.

Granville, with its excellent beaches, sailing and fishing port is only 30 minutes drive away from St Sever, with Mont St. Michel, Bayeux with its famous tapestry depicting the Norman conquest of England in 1066, Avranches, Coutances, St Lo and the D-Day landing sites are all in easy reach.

Fine scenery, unspoilt countryside, delightful towns, a zoo as well as excellent food and local products.

Other Activities: Full equestrian facilities are available near-by for the keen horsemen/women

Golf: There is an 18 hole golf course at Lac du la Dathée, which is 11km from St Sever. Lake Dathée also offers a picturesque, 6 km walk around the lake and it is possible to hire pedaloes and canoes during the peak season.

To reserve the property a deposit of 25% of the total booking cost is required. The balance and security deposit are due 8 weeks prior to the rental period. Should the booking be made less than 8 weeks prior to the rental period then the total balance will be due.

The main house has its bedrooms arranged over two floors, the 1st floor has two areas that can be separated by a corridor door, giving each area 2 double bedrooms (one of which has a small double/large single) with their own bathroom and toilet facilities. The 2nd floor has three bedrooms (two twin rooms and a single), with separate bathroom and toilet facilities, as well as TV and DVD player. This enables 3 families to occupy the property, each with their own area. The property is pet friendly, by prior agreement.
