You won’t need to bring anything but your bathing suit, shorts and some t-shirts to enjoy your trip to Grand Cayman. This luxury oceanfront condo provides everything. Located directly on the beautiful waters of the Caribbean Sea, the panoramic views and nearby water sport activities mean you need not venture far to enjoy all the island has to offer.
This private and peaceful resort is the perfect place to relax and enjoy as the tropical trade winds blow your troubles away. Only 30 minutes from the airport and the downtown George Town shopping area, On The Bay is a 12 unit complex situated on beautifully landscaped grounds on the quiet North Side of Grand Cayman.
Go for a refreshing swim in the pool or take a dip in the private cove fed by the sea. Snorkel right from the beach, or take a stroll in the sand. It’s all right at your doorstep. If you’re looking to take a boat trip, ride a waverunner, or go scuba diving, these activities are only 10 minutes away at Rum Point.
If you enjoy hiking, the Mastic Trail is only 5 minutes away, as is the beautiful Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park with its magnificent gardens of orchids and local flora.
Nearby restaurants provide both casual and fine dining.
We had three couples stay for the week of 3/14/2015. Loved every minute of our stay. Weather quieted down mid-week which made for great snorkeling just down the shore. The association is making nice improvements year over year. We already booked for next year!
The On the Bay Condos are perfect for a relaxing vacation. We have stayed many times at this property and will stay again! The unit we stayed in was clean, well maintained and comfortable. The owner and his property manager are easy to work with and when something was required (tv remote...it rained one day) it was replaced immediately. We like to stay on the North Side of Cayman because it's peaceful, close to attractions like the botanical gardens, Rum Point, Starfish Point and Kaibo. There are also great restaurants close by without having to deal with 7 mile beach traffic. I highly recommend this property for your next vacation.
My family very much enjoyed staying in your home. The house was beautiful and exceeded our expectations. The large windows in the living room as well as those in the master bedroom afforded a phenomenal view of the beach and coast. We really enjoyed staying in the end unit facing the water. The house was clean and comfortable with nice furnishings. The house was spacious with more than ample room for six adults, with a large common area for dining and congregating.
The location was perfect for morning and evening walks away from hubbub of the commercial beach areas yet only a short drive from several attractions.
We enjoyed several of the restaurants that you recommended. We did seek out local fare and all of it was very good. On our last morning we had breakfast at “Over The Edge” restaurant and only wished we had tried it sooner.
I would highly recommend your home as a beautiful and peaceful location to enjoy the wonderful Caribbean scenery and weather.
We spent two unforgettable weeks in this beautiful condo celebrating 25 years of marriage, Christmas, and New Year’s. To start, the views are amazing! Unlike the peopleless photos of 7-mile you see, the pictures of the quit beach and pool at On The Bay are very accurate. The private beach and pool rarely had more than two families. On New Year’s Eve (full moon), we saw bioluminescent in the lagoon…very cool! Rum Point is a must, and be sure to try the french fries with jerk sauce. The Lighthouse was our favorite restaurant with the best views, food and service. However, the meals we prepared and shared together at On The Bay cannot be beat. George Town and the west side of the island do have some very nice places to visit. However, check the cruise ship schedule before heading that direction and don’t attempt stingray city with more than two ships in port! If you like history and want to see the prettiest point on Grand Cayman, visit Pedro St. James castle. After exploring the entire island, it was always so nice to come home to the peacefulness of On The Bay. Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise.
We arrived the first week in December. Despite the gloomy forecast and winds that blew 25 miles per hour, Mark's condo at On The Bay did not mar our vacation at all. I'm not a surfer, but for those who are, you will delight in the eight-foot majestic waves that crest the shores of Old Man Bay in early December. For photographers, it is a sight not to be believed. And for those who were expecting a gentler ocean, don't despair. We found the small lagoon right on the property the perfect place for an afternoon dip. Despite the surf crashing the shoreline, this little tidal pool had calm waters that were warm as a baby's bath water, no undertow, and lots of colorful fish darting in and out of the nooks and crannies of the live rock reef that lined the sea wall. There may be winds strong enough to bend coconut trees but right on the sand, it's amazing that the beach furniture doesn't blow away. The breeze is calmer that you can lie down and catch some rays when the sun peaks through. At night, with the sliding doors in the master bedroom ajar, I loved the calming sound of the surf that lulled me to the best sleep I've had in a long time.
The condo had lots of space for my family of five and provided everything you need to make you feel like it was your own comfortable paradise away from home.
If you wanted to check out other beaches for snorkeling, try Queen's Monument on the North side. We even went as far as Collier's Public Beach where there wasn't a single soul and you had the whole stretch of sand to yourself, all within less than a 7-minute drive from the condo.
And the local food OMG ... Kurt's Corner, Over the Edge, Tuka's, and even Mrs. Vivene's funky Kitchen Restaurant only a 2-10 minute drive from the condo ... I can't say enough about the different Caribbean cuisine we dined on: the fried conch steak, curried goat, oxtail stew, fried fish, jerk chicken...
I loved that On the Bay condos were away from the maddening tourist crowd of Georgetown yet the island was small enough that you could circle it in half a day. If you wanted a more vibrant scene, it's a short drive. The roads are all well-paved and brightly lit so there was no problem getting around even with a left hand drive. (Can’t explain why, but Google Maps and GPS on my Android phone worked even on airplane mode). Of all the islands I've visited in the Caribbean, GC is a definite must-go-back-to and wouldn't hesitate to stay at Mark's On The Bay Condo again.
We stayed at On The Bay for 3 weeks in March. We were on the island for a wedding along with 30 or so family and friends and we were the only ones who chose not to stay on Seven Mile Beach and were so pleased we did. This place is idyllic - paradise.
The condo itself is spectacular - clean, tastefully furnished and so much space - we were a party of 5 adults and had everything we needed and more. All the time we were there we practically had the beach and the pool to ourselves. And the view from the balcony is to die for!
Mark (the owner) and Mitzy ( property manager) were attentive but not intrusive and there was plenty of info in the condo for local restaurants/ places to go etc,
You do need a car to get about - its about 15/20 mins drive to Rum Point , about 25 mins drive to the nearest large supermarket and about 45 mins to Georgetown and Seven mile Beach .
If we ever get the opportunity to return to Grand Cayman we would definitely stay here again .
