Relive a quieter time and enjoy a hard-earned stay at The Carriage House, originally a barn built in the early 1800´s and lovingly rebuilt on the property. Sharing a hillside view by a restored sandstone farmhouse overlooking the beautiful Blue Heron Pond (for gazing only), you´re surrounded by the solitude of nature and of yourself. The cozy interior includes carefully crafted hand hewn beams and period hardware from an age gone by, blending with modern conveniences like satellite TV and Wi-Fi. The barn features a queen loft bedroom which looks down on an open great room with fireplace and fully-stocked kitchen. The fridge can even be stocked with your favorite foods prior to arrival. After eating, enjoy your coffee on the deck, which overlooks wooded 50 acres, or explore all that Pennsylvania Dutch Country has to offer.

Blue Heron Barn is located just north of Lititz in the heart of scenic Lancaster County, PA. Historic Lititz is renowned for antique stores, boutiques and restaurants. It is also home to the Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery, the nation's oldest, and the Wilbur Chocolate Factory. We are within a half hour's drive of Lancaster's outlet shopping, farmers' market and Amish attractions as well as from the storybook lakeside village of Mt. Gretna. Hershey, Harrisburg, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington DC all are easy day trips from this convenient yet idyllic location.

The Perfect Escape from NYC

The Blue Heron cabin was the perfect getaway for me and my honey. It was serene and gorgeous, even when it rained. It felt as if time slowed down and for once, we were able to take in life's beauties. If you've never had a chance to sleep outside on a hammock, well here's your chance. You will not be disappointed.

Becky and John were welcoming and they kept things so simple for booking our trip that it was hard to believe there wasn't more to it.

If you're searching for peace, this is your place :)

The Perfect Winter Vacation

Every review you read about this beautiful renovated carriage house is absolutely true! We were looking for a place to relax after the craziness of the holiday season, and this home was it. It offers every comfort you could ask for and more, beautifully decorated, extremely clean, spacious, quiet, beautiful and serene grounds. We saw deer, quail and met Molly the cat. The owners, John and Becky are wonderful people as the reviews state. During our stay it snowed one day and it was so picture perfect looking out on the grounds while enjoying the lit gas stove and a glass wine. Our week here just flew by. We just love it here and plan to return in the near future.

The barn is beautiful, in a serene location that provides the perfect getaway. John and Becky are such nice and gracious hosts-they felt like family. Inside, no detail has been overlooked, it was very homey and inviting. The pictures here don't really do justice to the grounds-there are great spots for hiking, long walks, looking at the lake, running down hills, etc. Great fun for both adults and kids!

Hidden Gem

This hidden gem is perfect for anyone who wants to get away from it all, yet there's plenty to do within easy driving distance. My husband and I spent this past weekend at the barn and had a wonderful, relaxing evening. John and Becky are the most welcoming hosts and the barn is amazing, and beautifully decorated. The property is landscaped nicely, without losing it's rustic charm. We will definitely be back!!

A rustic romantic getaway!

We stayed at John and Becky's beautiful rustic romantic getaway for our honeymoon. John was so nice and personable to us. He made our stay as homely and easy as possible. John took the time out to direct us to places that we wanted to venture to during the day.

The house and the property are beautiful. Whether you are in the mood for a walk around the property or just staying in and enjoying the peace and quiet there is no wrong thing to do at this escape. We even had a deer come right up to the back deck in the morning time.

We plan on making John and Becky's a place that we will go every year. Thank you John and Becky for giving us a romantic getaway and a lifetime of memories for years to come!
