A Waste of Money
Review Submitted: July 9, 2009
Date of Stay: June 2009
We stayed here June 21-28, 2009. We were appalled at the small condo for such a big amount. This was a gift for our 40th anniversary from our children and they got ripped off. We entered to find this small very small living space. Barely room to move in the bedroom. We had to wash all the dishes by hand as they were full of food and growing things, same with the silverware and a few of the glasses. The bathroom tub was dirty and had to be cleaned. The beach was a disappointment as it is in a shipping channel and the sand is hard and dirty looking from what you would expect from a beach. Mainly this is due to the shells which do abound in the area. We did enjoy the dolphins which is why I gave it a 2. Please don't be like so many people I met there who were also upset at the size of their "Condo". Smaller than most hotel rooms. We had a good time in Savannah and tried to make the best of where we were staying. Also this unit is right over the pool area. The condo association does not keep to the rules as we had people in the pool up to 3 a.m. There is nothing you can do about the noise so get use to it. My original printouts didn't say anything about the size. Now it is on there but realize this is very small. The sunsets were gorgeous but the sunrises really couldn't be seen even though east/west view was promised. You get to watch the large ships come in and during low tide see the beach, This is not a handicap friendly hotel and you can expect to climb 2 sets of stairs. All in all while we loved the area we wouldn't come back here again.

Owner's Response: We are sorry these guests were unhappy with the condo and Tybee's beach. We are located on the north beach and the shipping channel into the Savannah Harbor is to the west of us by Ft. Pulaski. Most of our guests really enjoy watching the cargo ships that pass to the north of us. The view photos shown with this ad were taken from the deck of this condo. It clearly shows that it is a poolside condo.
We use wide angle lens cameras in making our photos in order to have a full room shot to display. We do this to show our guests the size of the condos. The bedroom photo clearly shows the bed is right by the wall. There is no room to walk around in the bedroom and the photo shows this. The living room clearly shows a sliding door and single window as the width of this room. There is a sofa and 2 recliners and that's it and the photo shows the room is full.
As for the cleanliness of the condo, I can't 'honorably' comment because I didn't receive a call from these guests. The guests who left prior to these arriving left wonderful comments on the cleanliness of the condo. They left the condo in excellent condition. We don't inspect every dish in the cabinets when someone leaves but I find it difficult to comprehend why anyone would "fill" dishes with food and put them in the cabinets.
We provide 2 contact numbers in our reservation agreements and 3 in the condo for our guests to have 24/7 assistance, if needed. These guests did not call or have any complaint until they left. Had anyone called and described a dirty condo, I would have appreciated that call and taken care of any issue immediately. We use private housekeepers and have a person who inspects the condo prior to guest arrival so I would have wanted to receive that call and would have treated my guests to dinner out while we resolved any problems.
While we appreciate all our guests, we want our guests happy. One third of the guests in this condo return year after year and there's a reason for that.
In the future, I would respectfully suggest this couple select their own vacation homes. Other than dishes full of food, this condo is exactly as was represented and is a wonderful condo enjoyed by many.
