Cool space indoor and out: The house and garden is designed to invite you to relax. We have not spared any expense in creating and decorating the space. The patio and garden is an extension of the house and offers a completely private setting for basking in the sun. The house is situated on a hill top where it is always slightly warmer and less muggy than on the beach. Thus the house is perfect for entertaining guests.
The place to go this summer according to NY Times: You can literally walk from the house to the new Surf Lodge, which is the coolest new bar/nightclub. It was created by the same celebrity-wrangling folks who brought the Cain nightclub in New York’s Chelsea neighborhood. The 32-room hotel is set on tranquil Fort Pond, and imports such Hampton's-like affectations as a mixologist, yoga gurus and a flip-flop-friendly restaurant helmed by the former “Top Chef” heartthrob Sam Talbot.
Walk to the beach : The house is conveniently located between the marina and the ocean beaches. You can walk from the house to the beach on the sound side - e.g. to enjoy the sunset after dinner.
Golf: Montauk Downs was originally developed in 1927. Robert Trent Jones Jr. redesigned the present course in 1968. State Parks purchased the facility in 1980. The ever-changing wind currents off the ocean and bay can change the way the course plays each day. The park also has a swimming pool and tennis courts. Seasons/Hours: Open year round, weather permitting. Signature Hole 12th hole, par 3. The prevailing winds usually blow toward the golfer, making this an extremely tough par 3.
