Grand Marais House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Sunroom, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Bring the family or a group of friends, fish off the dock, swim in the clean clear water, roast s'mors over the bonfire, watch the northern lights, listen to the call of the loon. The possibilities are endless at this 3BR/2BA home nestled on the shore of Devil Track Lake. Even on the occasional rainy day, you can enjoy the double Jacuzzi, play board games, watch DVD's, relax with the satellite TV, prepare a meal in the fully furnished deluxe kitchen, or sit in the sunroom with a cup of coffee.

Devil Track Lake is located just 8 miles from Grand Marais and all the excellent restaurants, galleries, shops and the tranquility of its harbor, breakwall and lighthouse. Grand Marais is also home to many fun and exciting opportunities; North House Folk School offers classes in traditional crafts, The Grand Marais Playhouse puts on professional quality community theater productions throughout the year, and The Grand Marais Art Colony hosts classes and exhibits. Or stop by the Johnson Heritage Post to view the permanent and special exhibits or visit the interesting Cook County Historical Museum.

The woods and waters around Devil Track Lake offer great swimming, hiking, biking, stream and lake fishing, kayaking and canoeing in the summer and excellent x-country skiing at Pincushion Mountain or miles of other ski trails located in the area, the labyrinth of snowmobile trails that cross the county, and the excitement of downhill runs at Lutsen Mountain Ski Area.

The Devil Track Lake Vacation Home is your home away from home. It is the perfect place to get away from it all. The house is fully furnished-just bring your food and beverages and be ready to kick back. You won't be dissapointed!!!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We have had a luxurious time here in the northwoods! The house is a terrific hideaway from the world. We have always had warm memories of Grand Marais and this long weekend just continued that tradition.

Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We have enjoyed coming to the north woods of Minnesota for family vacations for years. We have stayed in many cabins and many different places along the way. Once we found 'Kennedy's Cove' we knew this was going to be our 'spot'. We just love it here! The cabin has all the amenities and comforts of home as well as a great view on a beautiful lake. Every time we have come to this getaway it has been clean and well stocked with towels, linens, etc. Everything is included....washer/dryer, hot tub, outdoor grill, fire pit, private dock, canoe, kayaks, row boat. Everything you need is at your disposal so you don't have to worry about extraneous rental charges. We weren't able to visit for several years as we decided to visit other locations (like Hawaii, etc.). Our kids kept asking us when we would be able to return here (even after visiting Hawaii!). So this year was the year for MN and we weren't disappointed. When we arrived, we were pleased to see the improvements made. The deck had been completely redone and a nice wood platform added between the house and garage. Also there was a new dock and added kayaks. We feel the Kennedys try hard to make their place special for their guests so they can have a wonderful vacation experience....we have never been disappointed. Since we are from the Chicago area, we make sure we stay for one week when we visit. This year we were glad to be here during the Fisherman's Picnic. Our family thoroughly enjoys this home and the lake. We also like that the property is situated on a quiet dead-end road which makes jogging, biking, and roller blading enjoyable and safe. We can't imagine any other spot in Minnesota better for us. Thank you!

Great Lake House!

  • 5 of 5

This lake house was perfect for our family's first vacation up on the north shore of Lake Superior. Loved that it was tucked away with a private feel and it's own lake access but was so close to town. My niece and nephew enjoyed fishing off the dock and we were able to take them out for their very first time in a canoe and a rowboat (lifejackets are also provided)! We went swimming off the dock in the afternoon and enjoyed a glass of wine afterwards as the sun slowly went down and the loons became more active. There was even a jigsaw puzzle for the entire family to work on in the evenings. The kitchen was well-equipped, the house well-stocked with towels, bug-spray (although we also brought our own), etc., and Tim was particularly helpful in helping me with all my questions as a first-timer in the area! All in all, I would absolutely recommend this spot!

Owner's Response: Leah, We are glad you had a great time on your trip and staying at our cabin. It is such a joy to hear about your experience at our beloved lake house. All the things you mentioned are why we also love to slip away up there when we get a chance (not nearly often enough). I am glad my Dad was able to provide some helpful advice about the area. :) We hope we will see you up this way again! Wishing you a wonderful rest of your summer! Best Wishes, The Kennedy's

Good Times

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time during our stay here. There was just the two of us and we enjoyed the coziness the home offered but this home can truly accomadate a big family. The home is clean and well cared for. The kitchen has all the amenities you would need and we did cook in several times in addition to dining out for some fabulous meals. There are plenty of linens and towels available. The decks are fabulous as is the view of the lake. We did quite a bit of hiking on local trails which are just minutes away. It was great to be out of town for that relaxing pace yet a quick 10 minutes to excellent shopping and dining. We discovered the local radio station and really enjoyed the variety of music and interviews that was offered. I would definetely stay here again. Also, this is our first time using VRBO and it was so easy! Thanks so much!

Thanks for a great stay! We had lovely weather and a quiet lake. The swimming was very refreshing (!) and the bass fishing was fantastic. I hope to return soon.
