An actually relaxing vacation

The location of this property is really great. It's only a couple blocks from the L train station, which goes directly to Market Street or the Embarcadero, if you're going to sight-see. Cab fare from the ferry building was about $35 without tip, but taking the L train would have been $1.50 per person over the age of 5. It's on the other side of SF from those things, but the opportunity to take public transportation and see the locals was fun. The beach is a quick walk across a couple of roads, and has extremely fine, soft sand, and lots of sand dollars for collecting. We saw some really amazing sunsets from our window at dinnertime, so all our busy sight-seeing days were capped off with a beautiful scene!
The apartment itself is a short flight of stairs up from the ground level. It was extremely clean and had everything we could possibly need. We had just come from another rental in Southern California which was lacking a lot of useful things. There was plenty of toilet paper and paper towels, and disposing of trash was easy (not the case in the other rental). There were plentiful fluffy white towels. I really appreciated the quality of the kitchen wares -- no peeling teflon for once (the case at almost every other place I've stayed). The bedrooms were spacious, and the beds both very, very comfortable.
My husband and I had a great time watching Netflix Instant View movies on the Roku device with the large LCD television after the kids went to bed -- a comfort we usually have at home, but even more enjoyable on vacation.
My kids wholeheartedly enjoyed the various board games!!
The neighbors were very friendly (actually, the whole city was full of friendly people wanting to strike up a conversation).
The closest proper grocery stores are Safeway (east of 19th avenue) an organic store (on 40-somethingth and the N-line), and Trader Joe's (Stonestown Galleria). We made a nice treck to Trader Joe's and Borders on the day we took off from sightseeing.
If you don't have a high-tech cell phone with internet access, I'd very highly recommend getting a laminated map of San Francisco, and bring a laptop to help plan out your day ahead of time.
We had such an awesome trip to San Francisco -- I felt so relaxed when I reached home, despite staying there for 7 days with a 4 and an 8 year old! Thank you, Jacob!

Owner's Response: It is always deeply satisfying when guests at the property really enjoy what you offer them. We strive to provide very good quality at reasonable prices and want our guests to enjoy themselves, the amenities and the furnishings. We have given much thought to what our guests--families with children, adults, retirees--will enjoy
We are especially pleased that our guests enjoyed the Netflix instant view we recently subscribed to. and that the children loved the games we bought.
These guests used public transport entirely during their stay.
I want to mention that there is a Trader Joe's and a Safeway that are both closer to the property than the ones the guests chose to visit.
The large Safeway is on La Playa between Fulton and Cabrillo and the Trader Joe's at 3 Masonic Avenue near Geary.
