Our 'House by the Sea' is located on the quiet and unspoiled Georgia coast 100 yards from the beach and offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and south end of Tybee Island. This turn-of-the-century cottage is set in a lush, tropical garden, is fully restored, and is furnished in a casual, yet luxurious, decor. Casa Del Mar is the perfect location for long, relaxing vacations, large family gatherings, business retreats, and single families. Entire cottage sleeps 20. This cottage is perfect for large groups because there are lots of places to relax away from the crowd! The cottage is graced with full-length porches that have private accesses from all except the children's bedroom.

Notes: Beach items come and go, may be a good idea to bring some. Beach chair and umbrella vendor on beach in summer. Beach towels come and go, same thing! Kitchens fully stocked with utensils, dishes etc. Two kitchens, what may be missing from one, will be in the other! Two laundry rooms. Unfortunately, several stairs to access first story. Not wheelchair accessible-sorry. Below house parking for up to 8 chars, if you are careful! Beautiful grounds, please take care that dogs do not eat the plants.

If you choose the entire cottage, you enjoy two kitchens, two laundry rooms, two gathering areas, 4 full length porches, a roof porch, 7 bedrooms and 5 baths! Sleeps 20. The upper gathering area has a expansive area to enjoy meals together and a dining table that seats 10. This cottage is perfect for large groups because there are lots of places to relax away from the crowd! The cottage is graced with full-length porches.

A disappointment from day 1

The house was'nt even somewhat clean upon arrival and the previous guests had a huge party thier last night. Kitchen appliance was broken and other questionalble things we were responsible to report. After spending the first day of our vacation cleaining the owners only reimbersed for the cleaning bill, not the labor or cleaning supplies involved than tried to turn it around on us. We forgave the misunderstanding with the cleaning and moved past it. Than a friend of the owner stopped by unannounced and proceeded to look through each roome in the house, uncomfortable and not professional. Than the following day someone left 4 large peices of furnture with a note where to place them; the audancity given how this vacation began (it rained that night and againast our jusgement our mother made us move the furniture for them anyaway - mistake) Poor communication on the part of the owners. Will pay more, much more to stay somewhere else next time.

Wonderful Wedding Weekend

We were married on the back river on Tybee Island this summer. We stayed at Casa del Mar, along with our families, and hosted the reception there. It was absolutely fantastic. What a beautiful house. It was perfect for our get together with its large porches on both floors and both sides of the house. It was close to everything as well. We would definitely recommend it to anyone! It completed our wedding ceremony.

Best Vacation my family has had!

I recently invited my fairly large family on a vacation. There were 21 of us 8 adults and 13 children. This place was amazing plenty of space and perfect for a large group especially if you have children. They even had a high chair and a pack and play. The owners were so accommodating to us and even let us come early. I loved the space and all the extras that the owners provided there were beach chairs and toys. Thank you Casa Del Mar and owners for making my stay with my family unforgettable!!!

I've recently returned from a vacation in which I stayed at Casa del Mar on Tybee Island. I was surprised by the only other review because I had no such problems with the house. The owner was friendly and helpful, the house was very clean, and all of the appliances worked just fine. Sure there are lots of stairs, but that is obvious from the photos of the property and it's pretty common for a beach house to be elevated. My family and I enjoyed the cozy, comfortable feel of the home and the beautiful views from the decks. The home is perfectly located just a short walk from the beach and from several resturants and bars. I very much enjoyed my stay and am looking forward to returning to Casa del Mar next summer!
