My family had a great week .Even though some of the amenities were not available,we were able to take walks,go to the lake for quick dips, play mini-golf,play with the deer, visit the craft shop(was only open on Saturday and Sunday) and played lots of games.
Only problem was the automobile operators ignoring the 25 MPH speed limit in the community and at times not stopping at STOP signs. Some of the security personnel seemed not to be interested in trying to locate the" trouble spots"
All in all thiugh it was a great week and we wsill go back.
We really enjoyed staying here. We were looking for a place to rest and recover after several long weeks of constant running. The reason why I only gave this place 4 suitcases, for 10 people the lay out was not as great as we would have liked which made sleeping for the children diffilcult.
The house was fully stocked with dishes, cookware, silverware, glasses, games, blankets and pillows. The house was in good shape and comfortable to be in. One really nice thing was that the owner called us just to make sure everything was ok. She was so nice and eager to make our stay an awesome one. Very personal and caring.
We really liked that there were two familyrooms. With 4 kids it was important for us to have a place that they could go and play inside. Thankfully there was enough space for them to "get away" because it rained for 2 days and we were stuck inside. Nobody got bored and there were no fights. YEAH!!! We had several ping pong tournaments, played Wii, which we brought, played board games and watched a couple of movies. The owners definitely stocked the house well for their company. Thank you.
The ammenities for The Hideout were great. They have an Art Center which was very inexpensive, where the kids and adults could paint ceramics. All of the kids loved it so much that we went back 3 times. We played Bingo as a family, fished, explored the woods, swam, played in the arcade, fed deer, all from the comforts of The Hideout.
Also, the security guards at the guard shack were a huge help too and when help was needed in finding a pediatrician for my children they were right there searching for numbers.
Overall, this was a great experience and we would definitely go back. If we went just as a single family instead of three families, we would definitely stay here.
The area is beautiful an relaxing. You will not be disappointed.
My wife, friends and I decided to get away for the 4th of July and we were lucky enough to have this beautuful home available. I think the pictures don't do it justice. On the negative side it's hard to see the lake across the street past the parking lot...etc. and we couldn't really see the fireworks from our deck. On the positive side, well everything else. There was a strong AC unit which cooled the home quickly when needed. The basement was fully furnished with a ping pong table. The Kitchen was stocked with the necessities. There was a large deck in the front where we sat and soaked up some sun. Our favorite part though was the fenced in porch. We were able to sit outside, bug free whether rain or shine and the table was big enough for all of us. Also the owner was truly a sweetheart and even took it easy on me for forgetting to shut the front door when we left. Doh!!! Anyway the home gets high marks from the entire group.
